Derrick Rose is going to be a very good point guard for the Bulls this season. I have no doubts in the future he's going to be an all-star, but this year he will be very good. What'd he have tonight five assists to only one turnover? He was breaking down Deron Williams and the Jazz team D at will for a stretch there. I wish he'd dunk on one of those drives to the rims though instead of just hanging and double clutching, but hey he is only 6'2 so I guess will settle for layups. Nocioni to me does not look as good on D as he used to. He seems a little spazzed and confused, and somewhat of a liability honestly. Aaron Gray appears to be a walking three point play in the lane for the other team's offense waiting to happen. Defensively, he is just terrible, and his rebounding on defensive boards even appears suspect as Boozer went right by him on several ocaasions for put backs. It's possible with Derrick's breakdowns of the defenses Ben gordon may have more ability to fill the lane for easy short range gimmees. But, Ben's terrible drives with the ball leading to steals and blocked shot after blocked shot early on prove once again he should receive the ball from the point guard/off the ball and not be the playmaker because he is weak when he innitiates offense from a point role. Tyrus didn't look too bad except he still comitts silly turnovers, and doesn't take advantage of some defensive breakdowns well at all. Noah looks very out of shape and easily winded like a 60 yr old out there, ok 50 yr old. Thabo is still Mr. Hot Potata when he receives the ball on the perimeter. I wonder if there is still time for a preseason trade? I'd consider moving Thabo, Noc, and Hinrich(especially if he doesn't quit shooting those damn three's - penetrate and shoot jumpers in the lane or give the ball up) in return for anyone with athleticism/explosive leaping like say a Rashad McCants from Minnesota. Check out the scenarios on ESPN's Trade Machine it's the shizz. And Kirk while you're at it quit jawing with the refs over calls like you're a made man or something because you're not. Your career/future are still in question. Finally, Deng hardly looks like a $70-80 Million dollar man, should have dumped his rejection/greed mindset and picked up the athletic stud Corey Magette who was sixth in free throws attempted/converted last year, explosive athletic stud which Deng is not in the least.

"It's going to take Derrick a while," Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro said. "The point guard position is the hardest. Some guys adapt quicker than others. I think Derrick will adapt very quickly just because of his personality and work ethic."

Nice quote, coach. Care to make up your mind?

"If" he develops a shot?" Hey, No. 1 should develop a shot and bring it on soon. Right? What's basketball without a shot?
Just ask Big Ben. And what's ECurry without another tattoo?
Healthier? I don't get the beauty of those things. I'm old fashioned. God's given skin is the unqualifiedely the most beautiful tattoo in existance. Go Bulls. By the way has Drew Gooden shaven his beard yet?

Remember that when Rose was a freshman @ Memphis he went through the same learning curve and by the end of the season he was pretty darn impressive, hence his being the overall #1.

Just give him time.

Which will beak down first, the defenses he goes against or his body in an 82 game schedule? Well, the fans insisted on the kid from Chicago....

Get back to me at the end of the season, or even after 4 games on that one

I feel your pain. The problem however is not the difference in talent between Beasley and Rose itís the mish mash of mediocre and out of place players this team is made up of. What is this team? I donít see any identity and to make matters worse they are coached by the NBA equivalent of Sarah Palin. Yet another rebuilding season, UGH!

Completely agree - a total mish mosh of players. Absolutely ZERO team chemistry.

And they are being led by a coach that is learning on the job. What other team in basketball would have drafted the #1 pick and then hired a beginner as its head coach???

This organization never ceases to amaze me.

Though Derrick Rose scores less than Beasley but you try to see the impact of each individual players,Derick Rose give the biggest on his team (Chicago Bulls) than Beasley..Derrick Rose will be the barometer to this team..we'll see after the season, mark my word man.

Rose only wishes he really had William's ability. Our ( Bulls') leadership let a REAL point guard ( and home-boy ) slip away. Oh, my gosh, they could have had a PLAYER & sold seats too !

I had so much respect for Paxson coming into the job and initially he did not disappoint as he cleaned up the considerable mess left by Krause and looked to have the team back on track to being contenders. Now it is clear though that Paxson has lost his way and this team looks as adrift as any under the last years of Jerry Krause.

To make matters worse Reinsdorf gets even more stubborn as the years go by and he will probably stick with Paxson just to spite the people calling for new leadership. I am tired of waiting. It has been ten years since the last title from Michael and crew and the way this team looks from the coaching to the last spot on the roster it may be another ten years before they win another playoff game. The Bulls won't get any of my money or attention anytime soon.
