I'm hoping the Shannon Brown spent the off-season in the gym with Brian Shaw developing his point guard skills. If he can develope into a point guard he would be a better investment than Jordan Farmar who is smaller and less athletic. Farmar also hasn't shown much devotion to defense which is what the Lakers really need. The quick point guards killed the Lakers last year during the playoffs. Aaron Brooks and Deron Williams went where ever they wanted to on the floor. Shannon Brown, if given the minutes, can be the defender they need to keep the opposing pg's out of the lane.

Trade Farmar & Sasha for another experienced point guard of an outside shooter.

Apparently John is not much of a Laker fan. Brown and Farmar won the series against the Jazz and the Rockets. It was Fisher's poor defense that couldn't stop the PG dribble drive.

I do agree with him that Sasha needs to be traded, he just didn't put himself in a position to be successful last season. Maybe he'll be more successful elsewhere.

Lakers cannot get anything for Farmar as his salary is under $2M, while Sasha is closer to $4.5M.

Fisher can play less minutes during the regular season to allow for the other guys to develop and save some energy for the playoffs. If the Lakers extend his contract on a yearly basis, he will also make an excellent assistant coach for L.A. after he retires.

Brown is NOT a point guard. He is more athletic than Farmar, but he doesn't have good handles, passing ability, and mediocre decision making. Farmar has been a point guard his whole career and is more of a natural point guard. He'll have to improve his decision making and defense to earn minutes away from Fisher.

Fisher/Farmar/Brown is a good combo. Brown is fast but not really a true point guard. But all three of them bring something that is needed in the position, Wisdome (Fisher), youth (Farmar and Brown), Athleticism (Farmar and Brown).

They need to play Jordan more,he can give you good 3 point shooting, and hes young so he can get up and down the floor faster than Derek.

I say all have their strengths. Phil will place who ever will be an advantage at the time. Give Farmar and Brown in for more experience early in the regular season. But as Derek has said before it takes a little time to get into rhythm and make adjustments with his shots. Remember he missed several in a row before he hit those clutch shots in the end.

this is the kind of problem any coach would welcome. You have a small, quicker PG, a medium well rounded SG/PG, and a veteran PG to rotate. It will come down to match ups for the coach and for the players: winning or money; it is a business after all.

Old aging feel to himself nothing possible he can do it , in reality the body not responding as you were young and energetic. Try if you can lift as high in the rim with out forcing yourself reaching it. Run along with the young guards back and ford at end of the court who will quit first or who will make more 3 points shooting the way NBA all stars competition does.
