Ho hum - the Cavs have signed Gibson to a 5 year deal. Gibson has proven two things - he's no more than a spot up shooter who cannot create or shake his defender and he is susceptible to injury. This does not answer any of the Cavs glaring weaknesses.

WHO ARE YOU rdplatwa, or whatever your dumb name is? Gibson is one of the best players and shooters on the team, who can knock down a three better than ANYONE ELSE! the injuries are not his fault you think he meant for them to happen. YOU SHOULD REALLY THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK.
why don't you actually watch boobie play with the cavs before you say something, idiot.

They re-signed young talent, period. That's what smart organizations do. He'll prove his worth, he's a 2nd rounder so he's not going to be a 20pt 10 assist guy right away.

Terrific move. The reality is if Gibson plays in game 7 in Boston the Cavaliers win. Instead, nobody could hit a shot other than Lebron. Everyone recognizes that Gibson is a money player who hits big shots in big games. The key is to keep him healthy. But to denigrate this signing (which Lebron 100% approved of because he and Boobie have a great chemistry) is to show a fundamental lack of understanding of the needs of this team. We were in the finals a year ago, this year we came within 1 game of getting there again, so relax, people.

Oh, come on. Seriously. Is there one trade or one free agent signing that James has publicly said he didn't approve of?

Honestly, I think Boston would have found a way to win that game at home regardless. I really don't think Boobie Gibson would have made much of a difference, but it's always nice to have an excuse.

Dave Robisch, just what did Gibson do in Games 1 thru 6 that leads you to believe he would have made any difference in Game 7 ?????

Nice one, Ferry, but this was basically a layup. Let's remember that we have a 2-year window to work with, and still no consistent second scorer.

Well Ferry, it's nice you've signed him; but you need to get more done, regardless of the salary cap. Find ways to take this team to the next level.

The truth is that this is a good move, and as Brittle said, basically a layup.

Not sure how anyone can bemoan this signing. I hate to think of the "Burn Danny Ferry" mob had we NOT resigned him.

Exactly. It is a good move but it's not anything to write home about Mr. Ferry.

New blood is the only thing that will improve this team.
