Jan 23, 2009 Full story: The Flint Journal 31

The NBA draft is my favorite sporting event. Maybe that makes me lame but I enjoy the drama, discourse and smell of hope and change in the air on draft day.

I don't have any names as to who the Pistons will take in '09 but they should definitely place a premium on big body centers.

The roster looks pretty good as far as the back court is concerned and with the contracts of Sheed and A.I. coming off the books they will be able to address the frontcourt through free agency as well.

HHHHmmmm How bout in the 2009 playoffs the stolen Pistons who turned all their fans into convicts take on King James and the Cavs and then the stolen Pistons who turned all their fans into convicts get swept in 4 games (something I don't ever remember happening to the Pacers) losing each game by over 10 points. Then how bout in 2010 the stolen Pistons who turned all their fans into convicts miss the playoffs and the Pacers take their spot.

He's been in withdrawl ever since the Pistons got moved to Detroit over 50 years ago. The thing he doesn't understand is that they weren't making a whole lot of profit when they were in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Dude, I'm over the Pistons move. I never was mad about it. I just say the Pistons are stolen and turned all their fans into convicts, because they robbed their convict fans robbed the Pacers of an NBA title in the brawl that turned all Detroit's fans into convicts. And I just use the Pistons being stolen as another excuse to hate them.

PS.
I here B-more is looking for a basketball team. Maybe instead of trying to steel the Pacers from Indiana as payback for the Colts. They city of Baltimore could steal the Pistons from Detroit and turn all their fans back to normal lol.

How in the world did Detroit rob the Pacers of an NBA title during that brawl? The Pacers were nothing but an average team that year at best. The Pistons were a ten times better team that year. Plus, the Pacers would of had no chance against the Spurs.

Look at the Pacers roster from 06-now practically every one on the team involved in the brawl is gone and has been gone since 06. Hell Ron "Rappin Ron" Artest has never even been the same player since the brawl.+ right now there are tons and tons of people saying if the Pacers had Artest for the 05 season, JO for most of the season, and had Jamaal Tinsley not gotten injured after the brawl (when he started going to strip clubs to ruin his NBA career) they would have won their first NBA title.

Sorry, but having Jermaine O'Neal, Jamaal Tinsley, Ron Artest, and Steven Jackson in your starting lineup was not good enough to win a championship, especially not in 05' because the Spurs would of dominated them in the Finals. And please don't tell me that those four players were a better group than Duncan, Parker, Ginobli, and Bowen.

What ever (our opinions differ), can we at least both be glad the spurs dynasty is over?

No we can't because I have always considered the Spurs as my second team. But anyway, I don't think that it's exactly over considering Duncan is like 32, Parker is 27, and Ginobli does have injury problems but he's not that old though at 30.

You're right, Jeebs, the Spurs aren't over yet, but the Pistons are. They should draft Barney the Dinosaur because even he could play better than Allen Iverson right now.

Detroit is a good fit for Iverson, but that team just isn't a good group of players as a team. They're all good, but not as a team. To me, it all started when they let Ben Wallace go in free agency. Now they just need to blow that hole team up and start rebuilding.

Exactly, Jeebs. That's why our Olympic teams kept losing. They where great players, but not as a team.

P.S: I like Allen Iverson. I hope he goes to a good team when they blow up the franchise, because that IS what they need to do.

what do you think about Ty Lawson being projected to go to the pistons for their 15th draft pick. They need a center, not a point guard.

What the Pistons will do is trade all their old stars for younger players. If they can get a young center like Andrew Bynum and take Ty Lawson in the draft, they'll be much better.

Sorry didn't know you were a Spurs fan. But honestly if the Spurs want to win a championship they are going to have to get a better bench since they no longer have guys like Robert Horry and Michael Finely (not 100% shore on him though). And as much as I kind of hate to say it they are on the right track in the NBA draft. So maybe just maybe if the Spurs can get a few more good draft picks they might have one more championship up their sleeves. And as for the Pacer you can say what you want about them, but either way you look at it they deserved a championship in 2005 more then both the Spurs and the Stolen Pistons who turned all their fans into convicts. And as for the Stolen Pistons who turned all their fans into convicts, lets just say their championship days are going to be over for a long time just like the 18*andDONEwithoutCHEATING gay team Patriots and the Yankees. And as for the Pacers, well if they luck out tomarrow in the lottery and get Blake Griffen then they may win a few championships and become a dynasty just like the Spurs. But honestly I highly doubt the Pacers win the draft lotto and get Blake Griffen.

No they won't, because AI's, Rasheed Grasssmoker Wallace, and Antonio McDyess's contracts all expire after the 2009 NBA draft and I think Theo Ratliff's does too.
