I think Rose is probably the best option for this team considering their current needs and the strength of the PF position with Marion, Haslem and Blount. Beasley is amazing but what position does he play in the NBA? Most Heat fans seem to want to draft Rose at this point.

Derrick Rose
D.Wade
S.Marion
U.Haslem
A.Mourning

Sounds like a really good starting 5 and a 4th or 5th seed playoff team.
You pick Rose this year and all that money clears up the year after next and you build a contender around Wade and Rose for years to come.

I'm just not sold on Beasley. He can play but I don't see him as leading the Heat back to the top. I think Rose looks like a young Kobe. A race car can go nowhere without a good driver regardless of what is under the hood. Let's pick the guy who will have the most impact on this team...Rose.

The Heat needs to be lucky to land the first pick in the draft and we know how unlucky the Heat has been this year; no reason to think that luck is going to change. With that said, who do you think the Heat would select at the number 4 spot in the draft?

his jump shot at this point of his career is way better than chris pauls was when he was a freshman at wake forest and even as a sophomore. He has good form and a nice release he just needs to work on his consistency with it as paul did. Derrick rose has more than shown an ability to hit out to nba 3. Watch a memphis game or 2 before you comment on his game.

Ive been calling for Rose for some time now. Even with the top pick, I would go Rose over Beasley. Rose is gifted athletically. He has speed, has ups, and has quick hands on D. His jumper needs work, just like anyone else coming out of college. Rose is the most logical choice, and I hope the Heat get the second pick in the draft so we can get him.

How smart is he? He has the skills but how is he from the neck up? Chris Paul is very smart.

Will Wade be able to co-exist with another star? Especially Rose since he would play the point. Wade has really been the only player other than Shaq who has been coddled since day 1. If Rose is the real deal - can Wade handle it? Or is more humble pie needed for D-Wade.

Why don't you watch him clank a few more free throws before you comment.

I couldn't agree more. I think Derrick Rose is solution for the Heat. I also think he will have a better career than Beasley. With Rose at point, Wade will need the ball in his hands all the time. Rose will also be able to create for us, which nobody else but Wade is able to do right now.

Now, here is my problem with Beasley. I will point out three of them. Remember, what you're hoping for with a #1 pick is a star or a superstar.

1. Disinterest & potentially bad attitude: Watch some of Beasley's games and you can help but notice that he seems disinterested sometimes. He also looks like the type of player who has attitude problems and isn't coachable. However, i could be wrong.

2. PF OR SF,: Is he a Power or a small forward. He doesn't have a jumpshot either. When a mean jumpshot, i mean JUMPSHOT. He doesn't jump when he shoots. He is a stand still shooter. He can't shoot on the move. Longer players in the NBA will bother he shot.

3. Statistic are against him: Please left handed people don't get mad with me. Other than Manu and bosh, how many left-handed players are stars or superstars in the league. Statistically, left-handed players don't fair well in the league, atleast not in the star status.

I've been telling my friends for some time now that Rose is the best player for the Heat too. He is the safest choice.

With the three or four pick it does not matter (Miami does not win lotteries) but I go with Derrick Rose. The HEAT need a point guard (not Chris Quinn) and Rose is in my opinion more likely to be a future all-star than Beasley.
Until they play in the NBA though who knows.

Since the HEAT suck with only one franchise type player can Wade exist in Miami without him? Dwyane Wade knows what wins championships.
