I like your outlook on the pups situation. It seems to me there needs to be a few more moves as far as starters and minutes. I think they need to at least try starting Tolliver at center. He has an outside shot and can rebound better than darko. He is also more athletic and can move up and down the floor very well. I also think they need to try putting Ellington at the two spot. It seems to me he plays smart ball. Takes good shots, and seems to be that guy that scores when you need it the most. So lets go,
Tolliver
Love
Beasley
Ellington
Ridnour
I like the way that looks........

Your first sentence is wront. K Love has 42 consecutive Double Doubles and 51 on the season.. Big difference. Certianly it doesn't really change the basis of the story but as a sports reporter I figured you would be interested in getting your stats right..

KLove is the bedrock of the team, without question. Beasley is pretty good, and yes, could play better. Rubio is an enigma. Does he even want to play in the NBA? And if so, is he waiting for Minnesota's option to expire and play elsewhere? Sometimes foereign players don't want to play out of the limelight. Ridnour needs to be retained. He can contribute as either a starter or a curcial sub at PG for a few more years. Milicic, well I never undertood the teams desire to have him. He seems overrated.

Trading Brewer was a good move. He did contribute, but he is nothing more than a journeyman. Bringing in the expiring contracts allows the Wolves much room to manuever this offseason. Not to mention a high draft spot thanks to their woeful record.

I think at this point we pretty much know what each player is and I don't expect much to change or "improve" to somehow swing the ship once the season ends. Kahn himself even knows that while wins right now would be nice and boost team and fan morale the flip side is (once again) when you are in this spot this late in the year the only thing left to do is keep losing and keep your lotto balls high (insert Wolves lottery luck joke here). The franchise has more reasons now for fans to come watch (Love, Beaz, etc) but bottom line is they yet again have zero finished product and currently sit with the 2nd worst record in the NBA. It's beyond sad that we are still at a point in 2011 where all this team needs to do is make the playoffs once and fans would go absolutely ballistic. Making the playoffs in the West means being in the top 8 out of 15 West team. And the Wolves the last six seasons in the West have finished 15th (current), 15th, 11th, 14th, 13th, and 14th. No one is asking for an NBA championship...the fans are merely asking for this franchise to figure out how just get to 8th place and then you made the playoffs. And that day is no closer to happening than it was a year ago or the year before that. For everyone's sake let's hope A) Rubio gets here next year and B) Kahn pulls off a trade that gets a semi-star guard here. Take those pieces along with another high draft pick (Sullinger, etc) and you might have something.

Why would we want to take out a guy who is top five in the NBA in blocks? Tolliver provides almost no shot-blocking and would get killed by taller offensive guys. Its bad enough that we have Kevin Love and his lack of defense and shot-blocking, why would we want a 6-8 guy to only add to the issue? Tolliver is a serviceable guy, don't get me wrong. But he is a bench guy, not a starter in my opinion. Darko has PLENTY of shortcomings in his game, but he gives us the best chance to win... believe it or not...

Rambis just needs to learn how to substitute a little bit better at end of game situations...thats when we need to get the wes johnsons and anthony tollivers into the game as defensive stoppers....i don't care if you have to sub kevin love out for defensive purposes and not have a 'true' point guard out there, put your BEST defenders on the court when you need them because EVERYONE knows at the end of games the ball and clock stop for every dayem possession...
