GIVE IT UP! Saunders returning to the Wolves was never going to happen and never will. Give it a rest.
The Wolves need guards and will not take Jordan Hill in the Top 10. Getting Harden or Evans is a must. Pairing one of those two with Curry or Flynn would be ideal. Good trade for both the Wiz and the Wolves.
Walters, stick to writing about Mauer, Weinke, and Pryzbilla because that is your specialty, leave the current sports stories to the real writers.

Rubio has proven nothing and if the Wolves select him it would be the continuation of the futility of McHale. Hey Bull Shooter, here's some news, Foye sucks. He has always sucked and he still sucks. He has no real position as of yet. What is he? A SG? Nope. A PG? Yeah right. The guy is mediocre and certainly most of the guards available early on (save Rubio) should not find it a monumental achievement to exceed the play of Foye. Good riddance Foye, the bad taste of that trade of Roy may finally disappear when he is inducted into the HOF and you are cut and out of the league.

This is a terrible trade for the Wolves. Kahn has been conned in this one. Songalia has a little value, but the other two guys are terrible. It will take 3-4 years to develop the newly drafted talent, and that's assuming Kahn picks guys who are destined to be decent. Not all picks at the 5 or 6 spot turn into good players. As for Mchale, he was forced to use Randy and Miller differently than expected once Al went down. When Al was around, the double/triple team on Al allowed Foye to get a lot of open shots, and he really began to deliver. Once he learns to finish, and he will, he will be a great player. He's stronger than most of his opponents, and needs to learn to use his strength. Miller is an all-around good guy and athlete. He'll find his shot again in Washington because he won't have to move the offense as he did when Al went down.

When the Wolves trade up to #2 to get Rubio (with the #18 and either #5 or #6), then take Curry with the remaining pick between #5 or #6, the Wolves will be better off than they would have been with Randy "Man Without A Position" Foye or Mike "I Continually Pass Up Wide-Open Threes" Miller. Get over your Saunders-love, Shooter.

OOpps...Charlie, Jordan Hill played at the University of Arizona in Tucson...NOT Arizona State in Tempe. That's a BIG difference here in the Valley of the Sun.

Seriously, do any of you watch basketball? Songalia is a solid role player and Thomas is not that many years removed from being one of the top rebounders in the league. Charley, what is with your love of Foye. I will guarantee that Evans, Harden, Lawson, Maynor, and Flynn will all be better than Foye has been or will ever be. Just please stay away from Rubio and Curry, Wolves.

Foye is always going to be a "project" because he doesn't have a position to play. Miller wasn't used correctly here because he was not an integral piece...he's a great 6th man type of guy. Good trade for both teams.

I feel that Harden and Flynn would make a great backcourt for the the Wolves. Flynn is a true point guard that will provide the leadership that this team is sorely lacking. Harden is a very good all around player who is a legitimate 2 guard. I'm tired of these "tweener" players that have no real position.

Since Harden probably won't last until the 5th pick, the Wolves should float the #28 pick towards Sacramento to ensure that they get Harden.

Charley...you lose real credibility when you suggest that T-Wolves might draft Jordan Hill. Did you not hear Kahn recently say that the team doesn't need 4s. So in addition to Big Al, Kevin Love, Craig Smith, Brian Cardinal and the 3 guys we just got from the Wizards, you think Kahn is going to draft Hill?

If they stick at 5/6 it will be some combo of Curry, Evans or Harden and perhaps Rubio or Thabeet if they fall.

One other thing... This was a great trade for both teams. To analyze it, I'd split it into two separate trades:

1. Foye for the #5 pick.

Washington gets a proven scorer that they do not have to depend on as a starter. Foye's best role seems to be as a 6th man (like Ben Gordon) who can come in and score off the bench. Flip is the right coach to leverage his talents.

The Wolves get to pick from a host of guys who should be at least as talented as Foye. But, this player also will be in the first year of a rookie contract. With Foye, the Wolves were going to have to make a decision to extend him or not. We may have lost him for nothing in the near future.

2. Mike Miller for Songalia, Thomas, and that Ukrainian guy.

Washington gets a veteran shooter to complement their starters.

Minnesota gets 3 big bodies to clog the paint next to Jefferson. Songalia is a good rebounder who can also shoot 3's. Thomas is a solid rebounder. Don't know much about the other guy, but he was a first rd pick a couple of yrs ago. Let's put it this way, they are all better than the Centers we currently have on the roster.(Mark Madsen? Really?)

Shooter shot himself in the mouth with his position on the trade. Foye and Miller did little to help themselves or their team last year. We now have the opportunity to live down the Roy trade and rid ourselves of the tentative Miller. Plus the opportinity to get Evans, Curry or Harden who in my opinion are all better than Foye. Kahn got the best of this deal.

I didn't get very far in this "piece." When I got to "Simple: The No. 5 pick in the draft won't be as talented as Foye" I couldn't stop laughing. The subsequent tears in my eyes prevented me from reading any further.
