Villanova overwhelms cold-shooting Duke

Full story: Newsday

Villanova wanted a track meet to stay ahead of Duke's shooters. The Wildcats didn't get quite what they wanted last night, but Duke's awful shooting was enough to let third-seeded Villanova run away and into the Elite Eight.

Duke just had one of those nights, where you can't hit a thing, but Nova's defense kept Duke out of their offense the entire game.

Huge win for the Cats! They were all over duke from the beginning, playing amazing team and one on one defense. Duke had no answer for their speed, talent, play style and coaching.

I think that they should keep the format of the NCAA tournament, but once they get down to the sweet 16, change the competition from basketball to a spelling bee. Now that would be entertaining. By the way, how many of these "student-athletes" ever graduate?

Talking about something positive here. No need to be negative.

How many NY'ers graduate college each year? No need to take a shot at these kids.

Is this funny? Was that your intention? Or perhaps your genuinely concerned about graduation rates relative to higher education and the societal impact of same?

If only Duke had scored more points than the other team, they might have won the game.

I have a feeling that if Pitt scores more points than Villanova, they'll win the game. Just a hunch.
