its not even birds fault, this team isnt bad enough to be 12 games under 500 in an awful conference. If Carlisle was coaching i think we would be a playoff team

My husband took my son to see this game (free tickets). I was so nervous and hoped he would not be exposed to some aweful behavior. When the returned, my son talked about the big basketball outside of Conseco and how big the players' feet were. He also got to enjoy a slushy. My nerves were calmed. Thank goodness he did not come home with a black eye or sagging pants.

Yes, he called and said thanks for the $16,000,000 for sitting on his butt.

Pacers have been worse. Accept the reality. This team is bad so it is time to start talking lottery. The Pacers are a big part of Indiana basketball. True fans stick with their teams throught thick and bad...I offer fans of Chicago sports teams as the perfect example....Going through the valleys will make us appreciate the next mountain top.

Been outta town for the last 5 weeks and I gotta say the Pacers are consistent. They were tanking games in the final 5 minutes when I left early in January.

Wow a packed house last night showing the appreciation to the club for not raising the tickets for a product that should be less than a Butler bulldog admission.
Those that attended got what they paid for. Next time you feel compelled to drop a hundred bucks for an NBA game walk down to the corner of Washington and Penn and hand 10 bucks to a homeless person and take the other 90 spend it on booze for yourself. At least the head ache will go away unlike these bunch of stiffs.

I just don't see any improvements. I know we have a new coach. Has anyone looked at Trainging Staff to see if the training regimen is right?

Mike,
I like your coverage of the Pacers, but you missed some points. True we didn't win; teams clamp down on us in the 4th, and we don't have an answer. You should have attributed the paragraph below to the coach, who said it at the press conference:
"In the past few weeks, the Pacers have run into Cleveland's LeBron James (31 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists), Boston's Paul Pierce and Houston's Tracy McGrady, all players who can get a key basket when needed."
You could have mentioned the Jordanesque treatment LeBron received, ala jumping on Diener. The foul on Danny's breakaway was awful, too. Please provide some context when you say Danny and the Coach picked up technicals. Mike, keep telling it like it is ... all of it.

Everyone is like 'oh, they're only a few games out of the last playoff spot'. Why would you want to be in that position? Other than slight revenue generation (off what, 8k attendees?), the playoffs are worthless to us because we have absolutely no shot in going anywhere.

I know the league is against teams throwing games, but it is clear that the lottery is where we need to be. Get a relatively big name player and start drawing a crowd. So J.O. that his job isn't as secure as he thinks it is now. Maybe he'll start playing better and in two or three years, we can start thinking about 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs... but the pacers are a joke, and it seems like they are doing everything to be in that little gray area where teams don't make the playoffs yet have a very little chance at moving up in the lottery.
