WHY Shawne Williams? Cut this fool. No more troublemakers. He's rolling around with a guy who had a stolen gun, and drugs. Can you see the writing on the wall...???

I am estatic with the Granger resigning, and I am guessing that Diogu didn't cost much.

Danny Granger is going to be the heart of this franchise. A great player and an excellent person!

This is the best Pacers news I've heard in a long time.

I see that thuggery has its rewards. What the heck happened to this franchise? I see 41 wins this year, no more.

Since the Pacers picked up Shawne's option, this is at least the second time he's been picked up in recent weeks.

Williams would've gotten more points on his drivers license (if he would've had one) then he did last year. Nothing like reinforcing bad behavior. Great message sent to the young people, Pacers!

Couldn't agree more! Bird will sack this franchise before he's shown the door.

Diogu makes just over two million per year while Williams makes about 1.5.

Certainly I see picking up the extension for Danny Granger and Ike Diogu, however Shawne Williams seems to be getting rewarded for questionable behavior. Obviously very young players are even more vulnerable to all kinds of outside negative influences, but this action by the Pacers with Williams sends the wrong message. Time will tell, but the odds are good that a new situation will arise.

Wasn't Bird just talking tough about Williams? I guess getting a contract extension is punishment.

As a result of that incident Williams plead guilty to driving without having ever received a driver's license. I'd be willing to bet that a three game suspension is the toughest penalty that a professional athlete has ever received for the same crime.

If Williams would have been charged with possessing either the stolen gun or the the drugs then the penalty would have been more severe.
