Timberwolves' Kahn: We aren't trying to trade Al Jefferson to P...

Minnesota Timberwolves president of basketball operations David Kahn strongly refuted a report that he offered forward Al Jefferson to the Indiana Pacers in a trade for forward Danny Granger, a four-year veteran and the Pacers' leading scorer. Full Story

Translation? Kahn's trying to trade Al because there's chemistry problems between Kevin and Al.

I'm not sure Kahn is totally telling the truth about trading Jefferson or the behind the scenes issues between Al and K-Love. The reality is this: on a good team, one of them is coming off the bench because they both play the same position, power forward. Al is not a true center and neither is Kevin Love. That said, Kevin's defense maybe a tad bit better than Al's. I don't like Danny Granger on this team because he isn't a stud player. Every meaningful team has a stud player, Mello, Wade, Bryant, Nash, Dirk, Roy, James, etc. We need that kind of player in order for this to team to take the next step and Granger, isn't that guy.

Trade Al anyway. You can't have him and Love playing at the same time. Al never plays D.

If they wanted Granger they could have had him via the draft but they reached for McCants instead. Whoops!

Granger is a stud on the right team. Make the deal Kahn. All around player

Please do trade Al! However, wait until the season is over so we can continue to lose as many games as possible and secure that top-5 pick. Al doesn't play defense and is like a black hole whenever he is passed the ball. While I'd like to think he could be packaged for a little better player than Granger, I'd be thrilled to get Granger if it meant getting rid of Al. Make it happen Kahn.

Yeah sure, chemistry is the problem as to why the Wolves suck so bad.

Indiana isn't that dumb to trade Granger for Big Al "No pass, no D" Jefferson. Unless McHale gets hired.

then could do many different things with arenas:

to jazz for kirilenko and the ny knicks first.
ak47 has one more big salary year following this season.

or to clippers with a future second round for camby, a combination of 3 of following 5 (butler, madsen, telfair, smith and davis) and forgiveness of the first round wolves owe clippers.

or to portland for przybilla and darius miles.

or to lakers with pavlovic or pecherov for bynam and morrison.

if trade with lakers then...

trade bynam to cavs for illgauscus and at least a first this season. maybe two firsts.
can then ship cavs first to wizzards for arenas trade and keep higher jazz first.

send jazz or bobcats pick to clippers for mchale being a bone head and oweing clippers a pick.

high pick this next draft. keep high pick draft after that instead of giving it to clippers.

keep or trade rubios rights.
wolves can get good.
it just will not be for a few years.
look how sonics/thunder have gotten better.

from above,
could have wolves pick, wizards pick, bobcats pic,
jazz pick and caves pick.

would have to send cavs pick to washington for their first.

see if clippers would take one of the remaining lower two picks.

would have two very high picks an a mid first next draft and get to keep what would be likely high first in draft after next.
