Good for Bird. He might not be the greatest franchise president in history, but he knows you can't build pride by tanking and only losers would suggest it.

Now the pacers might break the 30 win mark this year.....

Whatever - the reason to NOT get the first pick is simple - we don't have the cap money to sign him. We'll just miss the playoffs and try to sign a midlevel talent in the late first round, or trade the pick for future picks when we get the cash.

Why would you even want to make the playoffs? We have no chance to win a series so what is the point. If we miss the playoffs we get a better player in the draft. We need a marquee player which we dont have. Jermaine is not a marquee player no matter how much they try to brain wash us.

Murray has put up good stats when given the opportunity, and I think that he'll be able to raise the Pacers to the next level. Unfortunately I don't think that level is 'the Playoffs' and more along the lines of 'almost .500'

I agree with Bird that you don't want to tank the season. Maybe with Murray on board now, and with Dunleavy starting to score a little more consistently (and he did get a few rebounds too!), keep Granger's spirits up, play Foster more (which I think is a big key--he brings energy and rebounds) and make a good draft pick, get rid of some dead wood--GIVE them away--maybe the team may turn around a bit. Never thought I'd say it, but I believe that Jermaine has to go, but definitely Tinsley and Williams. And if anyone even gets a PARKING TICKET, trash them immediately!!!

I know I said I was signing off, and will never say anything else, but I AM a died-in-the-wool Pacer fan. I do want to see them back to a championship calibre team. The recent past must be forgotten. I, too, remember the glory days in the ABA. Those were FUN basketball times!! Mayby they weren't quite the talent that the NBA was, overall, but some teams were close, including the ABA Pacers. The red, white, and blue BB was a great trade mark of the league. Watching them play in the old coliseum to packed houses every night was great. It was an EVENT every night.

Come on Donnie and Larry--get control of the team and put a good product on the floor. People will come back if they can see effort and the wins will come. There is nothing wrong with the team being "squeaky clean" for awhile. Maybe this new "image" person you have put on board will help. DO SOMETHING!! Let's GO PACERS!!!

So Scary Larry thinks its a good idea to try and get the 8th playoff spot....hahahahahahahaha!
Talk about a day late and a dollar short! Where was this "winning mentality" all season? What a freaking joke this franchise has become, we sign a bunch of nobodys in the offseason, i.e. Diener, Rush and now we are supposed to be jacked about Flip Murray? LARRY YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!!

Let's see. Flip in the line-up; OK by me, better than JT on or off the bench, better than Travis D., so give him a chance. Larry B. is talking like he is still on the Celtics driving for the playoffs; he really shows he may mean well, but has little clue what he is doing. And the post about "just let him do his job", we have seen how well he is doing in his job, with or without Donnie W.'s mentoring, and it stinks. All talk, little actions, and wanting to be the players best friend. Laughing Larry needs to go, and take J.T and D.H. with him, but trade J.O. first. Play-offs, play-offs, so what, we'll be out in the 1st round, if we do make it. Let's go after the draft picks, and fess-up, we are at the rebuild point. Enough is Enough (I know I have heard that somewhere!!). Waiting on the future of the Pacers, waiting on Bird to go, priceless!!
