I would be more concerned about the cheaters too...not the speech. Sounds like the NCAA is diverting attention from recruitment violations to language.

There are more important issues for the NCAA to address.

To think swearing can be taken out of coaches vocabulary is like telling teenager to stop listening to music with swearing.

Just not going to happen. Unfortunetly, todays society accepts swearing way to much.

Teachers in schools can do nothing about swearing unless they are sweared at directly.

Parents try (probably about half) but against the social tide of society today. It become rare they succeed completely.

The NCAA should just focus on fixing other issues that are more pressing in collegiate athletics today.

"Golly gee whiz Ted, I really think you made a mistake on that call and I wish you would consider my point of view as you continue to officiate the game. Thanks and have a blessed trip down the floor."

Who're Bob Knight's assistants? Sounds like they'll be doing some game coaching.

It's about time the NCAA exercised some leadership. Look at how much attendance is down at sport events because today's parents do not want to subject their children to foul language and bad behavior from players or fans.

Imagine a coach actually building players up into champions instead of tearing them down and throwing in bad vocabulary along with it. Yes, some sorry coaches and fans will say it's crazy but they are the same spoiled kids (downright hillbilly goats) who demonstrated their inability to speak the english language because they thought it was cool when they were younger.

With all of the coaches in the country I find it hard to believe IU is the only one to be making all of these illegal phone calls.

I find the spitting offensive. Can we ban that too??? It is a health risk for others, and sets a poor example.

If it a rule, enforce it. If you didn't need one, it wouldn't be one.

As fas as ones of you that think its a right, part of the game, trait of the coach, or just plan no big deal. Well, your flecking idiots.

OK, now we need a guide as to what defines a curse word and the complete list of curse words so we will know which ones are being considered, so no one slips...we all need to be on the same page here!!

Put Kelvin Sampson back on the committee. Then everyone will have to stop swearing except him.
