Danny Granger seems to be a fine young man. What I see of him on the Court he is very level headed.. He is a good 3 point shooter and an all around good player. He would be a good Mentor for the young kids coming up today.. He is a TEAM player.

Good luck to you Danny and have a great season. God bless you!

God bless the Indiana Pacers!

complain all you guys want, you dont support the team they will be gone after a few years then you really will be complaining.

its clear the pacers have not been the team of the past since reggie retired.

Be patient it can take years to recover. I dont blame Walsh and Bird for everything.

I would rather have a crap team than no team also. and i dont think we will be a crap team.

I think Granger is the future of this team. He's the player we should be building around.

The only thing I worry about with Danny this season is falling in love with the 3-pointer. O'Brien's system emphasizes the 3, but Danny's effectiveness in the post and on the glass was minimized last year when he started settling for the long jumpers. He can be so much more effective when he decides to take it to the hole. I have faith though!

Danny Granger is the brightest spot on this whole team. I wish him and the whole Pacers organization a ton of luck.

Every time something is written about the Pacers tons of people post comments calling them thugs! It’s like little kids that are not capable of articulating their thoughts, so they just play the “thug – card”.

Who are the thugs?

Ron Artest? I don’t think Ron-Ron was a thug, to be honest I just don’t think he is very smart. I’m serious, have you ever heard him talk? All the idiot things he has done, I bet his IQ is in the low 70’s. But Man, he was one hell of a player. Million dollar ability, 2 cent head. Regardless, he is gone.

Stephen Jackson? Yeah, he probably is a thug. He had a tough childhood and probably tries to hard to “keep it real” with his peeps, but the guy is gone so get over it.

Jamal Tinsley? I would hardly think so. You can call him out of shape, horrible point guard, bad decision maker, but not a thug. If going to a strip club and getting into a bar fight makes you a thug them we have a pretty high percentage of the population that would qualify.

Is it possible that when you say “thugs”, you are really saying these guys are too “black” for me? I’m a white guy and all this “thug” name calling seems to have a bit of racism behind it. If I feel that way imagine how African Americans fill or better yet the African American players on the Pacers feel. I don’t think they assume you are talking about Murph, Dunleavy, Foster or any of the other white dudes on the team.

Off my soapbox and back to Granger. I think he is a nice player, but that is all he will ever be. He averaged 11.5 PPG last year and will probably move that number up to 15 during the few peak years of his career. He is not or ever will be an all star.

He's going to have to be confident and take on a greater role in leadership as well as scoring. He's got to be more vocal, and not second guess himself.

The best thing I think would be for him to contact Uncle Reggie and ask him how he was able to take his lanky 6'7" 195 lb frame and score driving the baseline with pullups.

Reggie was great at knocking down the threes but when he wanted some quick points to get his rhythm going he'd slash towards the baseline and pull up for the deuce.

Good luck Danny!

The Pacers are getting no respect which maybe is what they deserve after the end of last season but they are 3-0 now in the preseason and I know they will be a team to reckon with. Im very excited to see what I have the last three games. larry Bird has put a team together that can actually play despite all of the negative comments towards Bird and the pacers for being thugs and everything I think the Pacers have a great team this year with good character players. I cant wait to watch what they can do when the regular season starts. Tins will be a stud with Dunleavy playing like he is, he could end up being most improved and JO being JO will do fine if he stays healthy. Granger will have a great season and I think Diogu will breakout this year. Look out NBA and all of the Haters, the Pacers will play hard this season and win alot of games and be one of the biggest surprise teams in the NBA!!! JIM OBRIEN is just what the Pacers needed, great call BIRD, No matter what people say you know more about basketball than any jackass hater on this blog
