The Indiana Pacers' playoffs chances went from slim to a long shot in a matter of three minutes because of the player nicknamed "Flash." I'm coming through: Miami's Shaquille O'Neal gives himself a helping hand ...

Why keep going inside to JO when all knew he was having an off-nite. He should not have been back in the game the last few minutes when all was going well. Every time the team makes it a point to go inside, instead of taking there own opportunities, then the game goes down hill. Same happened with 76ers. Indiana has some good players and shooters so let them play and stop going inside. When you play a game with Shaq or Wade, then you know who the refs will favor. Shaq almost KOd Foster on a occasion or two when going for slam dunk, in front of refs, but no calls. Also, refs may want to count number of steps Wade takes in an around basket. Seems like refs are intimidated by these players and coach. Another item: Bill Walton needs to get another job. He is so mouthy, arrogant, and one-sided in his opinions that it almost ruins a game. Hated to see Pacers loose as they seemed to be improving. All their mistakes happen in last 4-6 minutes, normally after a time-out...

The majority of the blame for the poor season for the Pacers has to rest with Larry Bird and Donnie Walsh. Stupid trades, and lack of being able to make good decisions. The fiasco last year with Ron Artest why did they decide not to play him until a trade was made, then trading for a player that was not a good fit for what was needed. They should have traded this year McNeil for a power forward or center and a point guard. Then by keeping Jackson and Harrington would have had a group that could I think challenged for the Division Title not missing the playoffs.

Larry,Donny and Rick please go, before you make more of a mess for your replacement to clean up! Please go quietly, and please use the back door.

Both have proven they can win. Bird... obviously... and Rick has a solid winning percentage in his coaching career. Since, like most of us, I don't have those credentials, I would think we need to ASK them what to do instead of presuming to tell them the solution.
Good luck in the future Pacers.

Cmon Pacers
Roll and play dead. Do it now and not the playoffs. Trade ONeal and whom ever to land Oden.
Lose baby, just lose.

Keep JO. Fire RC. And hire Reggie or Mark Jackson as coach. No more of Larry's friends and get J.O some HELP and see what he does then. Iverson wanted help, he got it. Kobe had help, and is doing nothing without it. Reggie needed help and never got it. Who does Jermaine have?
No doubt! They had there chance to pay Brad Miller + over the cap money and didnt. JO is banged up. Unfortunately its to late. Time to move on. Especially Larry. Time to let the bird out of the cage and fly away.

Carlisle has a track record as a championship caliber coach but what has Bird proven?
