Heat clinches playoff berth; Haslem sidelined

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

When another harrowing finish was over, when the Miami Heat finally got it right, when injuries to the power rotation couldn't suffocate his team's spirit, Dwyane Wade stood in the middle of the locker room.

Keep rotating the guys, fresh attack through the game, as it keeps each other feeling special about themselves as a equal qualified contributor of a great team , building a consistent steady force of game (clock) play.

This is a great accomplishment and what make D. WADE MVP is that this was done with a roster of youngsters which includes 2 rookies and 1 second year.

Beas is looking real good. If he and dwade can play together more on the floor, we can be unstoppable . He will be the wades pippen someday. However, if SPO does not start beas tonight,(i read somewhere diawara might start), that can set us back. Now is the time to see how this lineup would work. Way to go heat. Hope we can get 5 or 4(atlanta has a tough schedule and we play them).

Ha, ha...

Now our wonderful coach will be forced to play Beasley and give him the playing time that he needs to develop.

Screw the "need to develop." Playing time is earned, not given. He is earning his minutes now and providing scoring off the bench, which is sorely needed. He earned his minutes last night with that defensive stop late in the game, and with timely - and efficient - scoring.

Spo has done wonders, considering having two rookies, a 1/2 year man (JO) and a 2-year man (cook) besides he himself being a rookie.

We may not be going too far, but we will have plenty of company with the "established" teams that will also be eliminated in the first round.

Go Heat!

Haslem ... a Jewish boy?

(No, Yasha.)

No, huh.... Circumcised maybe?

(No, Yasha. Not circumcised.)

What, so there are no Jewish boys on this team?... No, you'll-excuse-the-expression *clear-cut* evidence that any of them have been circumcised ... and you want me, Yasha J, Banana, to root for the Miami Heat.

Believe me, as far as heat is concerned if I want to be in heat, I'll conjure up memories of when I schtupped Sophie Tucker back in 1932.

Ho boy, now there was a woman. Pheeeew! It was a regular all-day project.

Also, getting back to this basketball team here in Miami ....correct me if I'm wrong but all the Miami cheerleaders are shiksas, right?

(Right, Yasha. Goyim, first to last.)

So what's to root for? What's the purpose of cheerleaders if there's not one JAP, not one Jewish-American Princess in the lot of them?

And don't tell me that cheerleaders are vital because they make you root hard.... My root hasn't been hard since when Pat Riley was wearing short pants.... Listen, with a prostate gland as big as a Voit basketball, I couldn't get it up for the Rockettes on steroids.

So, tell me, what do I have to cheer for?... That they should re-open The Rascal House.... That I should have a decent bowel movement as often as I defrost my refrigerator.... That Nicole Kidman should covet my tush.

Listen, the Heat, enough already -- they should live and be well.... Prickly, I would never wish on them.... But, once in a while, you can't play a game or two in the Catskills? Or Hallandale?... This is asking a big deal?

Ahkk, pa-tooie!-- so what's the use? I'm going to go lie down now. All the luck in the world, Miami Heat. God bless you and all your brother-in-laws. All your wives should live as long as they have credit. I'll plant a tree in Israel for you.... Till then leave me alone with your playoff berth, your exciting heart-stopping finishes -- at my age I don't need my heart to stop, temporarily or altogether.

So goodbye for now. Lotsa luck. Say hello to that Sicilian messenger boy, Eric Spolestra. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Gutty win...great, great season...but this team is maxed out. It's either Wade making it happen or else everybody else watches. They'll load up on Wade come playoff time so get ready for that visual challenge. Here's why - count'em - how many guys on this team other than DWade and Chalmers can take the ball full length of the court to the rim? That's it...those two. Obviously the Heat need athletic bigs but also guys who can dribble the ball more than 3 times in traffic without looking for help! Cook, Jones, Beas, UD, Quinn, Diawarra, DWright...ain't happening. Heck the Cavs start three guys with a handle! So hopefully looking forward the Heat brass can pick up some of these types of players or draft some of the following guys:
Stephen Curry
Tyreke Evans
Eric Maynor
Brandon Jennings
Willie Warren
Demar DeRozan
Jeff Teagues
Ty Lawson
Jony Flynn
Terrance Williams
Jrue Holiday

More ballhandlers would definitely help take some of the pressure off DWade and help define what this current roster should look like. It's simply more than just quibbling about UD and Beas playing the 4 or Beas at the 3. Eventually, UD will need to accept a 6th man role like Rambis or AC Green did with the Lakers. But, don't ever trade him.
Thats a man baby

This team stinks. If the NBA didn't let half the league in the playoffs "MVP" and the rest of "Wade County" would be home where they belong.
