Acknowledging that it's a gamble, the Orlando Magic might be willing to wait on whatever decision shooting guard Corey Maggette makes as a free agent.

Bogans, Evans, Redick, Dooling, Lee, Maggette/Pietrus..

I can see why Otis wants to add more depth at shooting guard! How about more depth at power forward or center???

I had to read the Florida Today to get real news. The Magic and Pietrus have reached a verbal agreement for $5.2M. Maggette is out.

Hey Sentinel....fire these loser beat writers and hire John Denton!!!!

Yes it is risky. What if we lose out on Pietrus AND Dooling? Then Maggette signs with the Celtics or the Spurs.

Is that right 5.2 mil a year? That would be most of the MLE. Hes not worth that. If that is true, look for the Magic to trade Bogans or JJ for whatever they can get so they can get some kind of backup PG.

I like the Pietrus signing, as it takes pressure off of C. Lee to play right away. It gives the Magic the option of deploying a defensive lineup with Pietrus and Lee at the 2 and 3. But we still need to re-sign Keyon Dooling. That would give the Magic 3 strong perimeter defenders.

Furthermore, the Magic need Dooling's size and defense at PG, where there currently is not a viable backup.

Dooling is "on their radar". I would hope so, he only played the whole season for them. Something a little more specific would be nice. Saying somebody is "on their radar" is basically the equivalent of saying nothing at all.

I'll bet Gheorge Muresan is on their radar too.

I agree 100% with the last sentence. However Evans will not be resigned. Dooling if resigned will be a backup for Jameer.

As for Redick the writing is on the wall. Bogans is on the last year of his contract.(he extended cause he knows there is little chance for him on any other team). I dont think the Magic have long term plans for him.

It seems Otis is planning for "if" Hedo leaves after this season. Hedo can get more money and we dont have it to give.

Not an Otis fan but I kinda see whats going on.

There goes resigning Dooling. That was not a great signing there. A little overpay, plus that leaves enough to sign someone for the league minimum. Looks like we will be seeing alot of Jameer next year.

I've read along with the Mickael Pietrus signing, the Magic are "waiting" to see what happens with Corey. I dont see how they could sign him...I dont know who in the league would take JJ or Bogans.

Some how I think Otis knows he has to trade Hedo before the all star break. He may not say it (really when does he ever?) but I think he knows

If we dont resign Dooling, look for them to put Lee at 1 (backup) he did play some point in college. However the dealing is not nearly done the Pietrus signing where we like it or not came from no where. S.I. said the Magic didnt even call the guy. Its a long summer lets see what happens.
