What? I can see Brewer for Randolph. But to take on Eddie Curry for the privilege of giving up a 1st round pick makes zero sense. The Knicks are trying everything to land Carmelo - we should have them over a barrel in this situation, not getting ripped off.

Here we go again! The Tender wolves get cast offs and rejects with huge salaries and they throw in a first round pick to boot just to show how stupid they are. When will it ever end - when will it ever.....end? ;-(

I like Curry's expiring contract but not at a lottery pick price.

Doesn't make sense at all for the wolves. But, hey, it's the wolves.

This is a silly trade. Randolf does absolutley nothing for the team anyways so why do this?

So basically this turns into 2 first round draft picks due to Brewer at one time being a 1st rounder. Should have drafted Noah instead. I like Anthony Randolph's game though.

I'm tired of Kahn's no-brain moves. He's so infatuated with trading for expiring contracts that he can't see the big picture. Apparently it's difficult to convince free agents to come to Minnesota, so why would you want to give up draft picks... who have to come here IF they want to play in the league. Kahn has to quit bending over for other teams and start doing what's best for the Timberwolves, unfortunatly, I seriously don't think he knows what that is!

I don't think the Wolves get enough in this trade. Randolph is a POTENTIALLY good player, but NY would be the second team to give up on him if he is traded. His name was bandied about last year when Love was supposedly on the trading block (at least in the press). Kahn must have a "crush" on getting Randolph.
Curry's contract MIGHT be useful if we could trade him to some team that wanted to shed a player with a longer term contract, but there is no guarantee that we would find someone who wanted to give us a good player in exchange. We already have cap room, and don't need even more. Obviously, Curry has to be part of this deal as NY needs to shed some contracts in order to be able to put Carmelo on it's roster.
I would make this trade if Landry Fields were included, especially if the draft pick that we had to give up was Utah's (secured in the Big Al deal), or the one we get from Memphis, rather than one of our own (which will be lottery picks for the next several years).
How about the Wolves getting involved in a trade where we do the "raping" of the other team, instead of us always being the one's being taken advantage of.

This trade makes no sense. Do we really have to get involved? This is between ny and den. Obviously ny is just using us as a tool to help bring in melo. We don't even need Randolph or curry. How about we say screw u to ny and den and keep our first round pick because we will be needing it more than Randolph and curry?

To me, being able to rid themselves of one terrible Corey Brewer (speaking of wasted draft picks) makes this deal worth it, before even considering the other components.

Memo to Kahn Don't get involved for trading sake. If you give away a first round pick/Brewer and get Curry and Randolph back when you are front court heavy already then I should be giving my professional opinion on Around the Horn. Unless you have something else cooking then sit on the picks and draft/trade on draft day. Curry is a gentle giant and Randolph can't even flurish in Nelly ball or Dantoni's streetball then he never will. Get a coach that focus' on defense and then Loves' play will mean much more. Now I'm done.

It says something about the NBA draft when teams are willing to give up a first-rounder for an expiring contract and then use the money on a FA. Kahn is so worried about getting expiring contracts/money to spend in free agency...one problem...the Wolves have been terrible and the winter weather in MN is worse = no one wants to come here!!! Need to build through the draft Davey, not trade away lottery picks.

Kurt rambis will b gone by next season if the wolves don't start winning games. Maybe Kahn to the year after if Rubio doesn't produce which I highly doubt. Then we'll have another 5 yr makeover plan and all our key players that we have now will b gone like love and beasely.... Why am I still a twolves fan??

If the Wolves were to give up a 1st round draft choice, it is prove positive that Taylor does not care if the team makes a profit. Other than a couple of years with Garnett, Wolves management seems to be very comfortable to be the doormat of the NBA. Only the complete and utter collapse of Cleveland is preventing them from being the worst team in the league this year.

Trade would make NO Sense!!! I'm sorry in this deal we should be WAY more on the recieving side since NY is getting Carmelo. Even though the wolves didn't sign Brewer to an extention, I believe he is still a restricted free agent, and he actually wants to stay here and Win here. Brewer should be considered a part of the core! The wolves need to keep these guys together and stop changing pieces, if they ever want to win!

Brewer was a wasted pick and expense. an opinion validated by the players that came after him,
