Stupid... Should of kept Chase and Slaughter. I really liked what they showed me in the preseason.
Anthony will never see the floor and when has Quinn ever impressed anyone?... he's a poor man's John Crotty. They should have been cut/Not given guaranteed contracts.

Cant beleive Penny was kept. Maybe he contibutes 8ppg this season but next season and the season after that you cant expect him to be on the team. that spot should ahve gone to Richardson and money should not ahve been an issue in deciding on keeping Quinn and Barron. Chase should have been retained. All that said the team is still better that they were last year.

The decision not to keep Slaughter and Richardson had to do with the acquisitons of Davis and Blount. Chase is too small IMO.

Dolphinatik: If you really follow the preseason, you should see how well Penny can make the team become. Especially the offense part, he help gel the team very well. And most importantly, he plays best half-court on the team, which will be very suitable for Shaq. His value is not about whether he can score 8 ppg, it's about his basketball IQ, he just knows how to play the game. I agree Chase and Slaughter should be kept, but at the same time, I think Penny worth it too. Just wait and see, to me, he is an even more valuable choice at SF than Davis for the team.

Anthony made the team because of shotblocking ability. Outside of Zo, nobody on the team can block shots. Slaughter didnt make it because Alexander Johnson did and Blount was acquired via trade.

Didn't get to see any preseason games as I live out West. I'm assuming that since Blount is an offensive minded C/PF who is soft on D, Riley must have seen enough promise defensively from Anthony & Johnson. That said, based on the boxscores, it looks like Chase outplayed Quinn & Slaughter outplayed Alexander Johnson.

I don't know what Riley sees in Barron. and Penny? I like the move last week but these are very questionable decisions. Can't wait to hear his explanation.

Seems obvious to me that Chase and Slaughter out played all bench players and should have made this team. Sometimes I really think I know more than these scouts and coaches when it comes to talent. Talking bout the Dolphins and Heat.

Honestly speaking, I think talking about who can make the 15 player roster makes no much sense. If anything, I will say Heat will probably play 8-man rotation this year (if not another trade). So it doesn't really matter whether those possible 11 or 12 man will make the team or not.
The 8 men rotation will be: Shaq, Zo, Blount, Haslem, Davis, Hardaway, Wade, Williams. Parker will likely to be the alternative if one of the 8-man injures. And honestly, those 8 people look as good as anyteam can offer if healthy. So stop complaining, I trust Riley more than most of the haters or reporters.

its not about who's gonna see playing time. It's about who played their butt off and deserves a spot on the team. Chase and Slaughter proved that they were an improvement over Barron and Quinn.

The Dolphins winless, the Panthers beyond irrelevant, The Marlins deserve so much more but they won't get it there, The Canes struggling in the ACC for Pete's sakes and now with the Big, Old, Crippled, Fat guy on the way out and with Mourning to follow and Wade to soon lose interest-----Well, get ready for the return of the cordoned off upper tiers and the sight of those garish seats as the scalpers along Biscayne Blvd are about to get a reality check.

When I left "Paradise" 4 years ago to go to an area with no pro teams, little did I realize the area I was leaving would have no "pro" teams for all practical purposes by 2008.

I surmise that the Early Bird is still flourishing along Military Trail between Atlantic and Clint Moore in PB County.

Itis not always about stats and numbers. Chase may have had better numbers but Quinn is probably a better point guard who can run an offense and distribute the ball to the people who are scorers
