All hail Kirk Hinrich's long-awaited return for Bulls

Full story: Chicago Tribune

The rousing ovation Kirk Hinrich received when he entered Monday night's game with 5 minutes 27 seconds left in the first quarter still didn't make up for the previous nine weeks.

I never thought I'd miss Kirk Hinrich after last season, but this season's un-Watha-Bulls have been so bad, I was thrilled to see him back.
He played well, too.
With him back, there is no need for Gordon and Hughes to receive any more playing time this season with the Bulls.
Hughes needs to be marburyd and given the remainder of the season off.

hinrich sucks and he ain't ever gonna help a team become sucessful. he's pathetic and that's it. no one can describe what he does well. it's only a comparison with whoever else plays his position. no one is fooled by his lack of talent. he's just a stadium fan favorite. ummm!

Good to see Hinrich back. At least he doesn't ever open his mouth about how good he thinks he is. At least he can defend, and seems to generally get along with other players, as well as be well-received by the fans. Here's a guy who might actually embrace a healthy reserve roll. Here's a guy who's not whining. Here's a guy...here's a guy...god I need some coffee.

I guess some of you clowns prefer Hughes and his bad shots and Gordon and his turnovers and both of there selfish play, but i guess they can score and that's all that matters huh. Who cares if your teammates like you, just keep shooting for your new contract Ben and Larry.

Looks to me like Hinrich is starting to get the DeRosa love in this city! Like DeRosa he is an average player but since he is a good guy the meatheads love him. Come on, we have to be a better fanbase then that!

Deng is a dud. He is not vocal (why did you accept team captain if you're not going to lead as a captain), he's way too inconsistant and he has a history of a bad back. Why was it that Paxon didn't want to part with Deng for KG, Kobe Bryant or even Gasol.....it's truly a sad day as a Bulls Fan. I'm not a fan of Gordon either, he has a tendency to be selfish and plays no D. Why can't we ship these guys for a proven big man. Or what are the chances we can steal LaMarcus (should have been a Bull) Aldridge from Portland since both he and Roy will be restricted free agents 2010 and the Blazers will already be over the luxury cap. I doubt they can offer max to both players.

FROM THE DAILY HERALD:

Back in 2006, the Bulls were willing to give up Luol Deng, Tyson Chandler and other pieces for Garnett. They acquired Viktor Khryapa from Portland that summer to add depth at small forward.
A year later, the Bulls were open to including Deng, Kirk Hinrich or Ben Gordon in a Garnett deal. Team sources indicated there were several conversations between the Bulls and Timberwolves. But whenever the discussions started getting specific, McHale would change course and ask for more.
It was written here that Minnesota sent out word before the draft that it wanted to deal Garnett before owner Glen Taylor left for a trip to China, which turned out to be a bluff. Another report had the Timberwolves backing out of a deal sending Garnett to Golden State on draft night because they wanted Al Thornton with the No. 8 pick instead of Brandan Wright.
Then again, Boston supposedly agreed to send the No. 5 draft pick to the Timberwolves with the same group of players, then made the deal without the pick a few weeks later after Garnett balked at joining the Celtics. How did that make any sense for Minnesota?

FROM THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE

The Memphis Grizzlies are now telling teams they are reassessing whether to deal Pau Gasol.
The Chicago Bulls were in preliminary talks a few weeks ago involving players like Andres Nocioni, Joakim Noah, Thabo Sefolosha and Chris Duhon, but the Grizzlies have backed off.
The feeling is maybe Gasol isn't the problem. He is slightly above his career averages at 19.3 points and 8.8 rebounds. But Gasol remains unpopular locally after his frequent questions about staying in Memphis over the years.

And As for Mr. Bryant, Kobe was never on the market, he wanted to be traded by the Lakers wasn't going to Oblige.

The Blazers will have more then enough space. Raef, Francis, and Miles will be off the books by then, giving them more then enough space to sign all three.

I really enjoyed him jumping into and fouling a jump shooter. I also missed the frantic pounding of the ball at the top of the key and the pointless running around and driving to the basket without any threat of a layup. Now they really look like the Bulls of last year. The team is saved now that Captain Klunk is back!

Why do people forget it is contract year for Gooden too? Why isn't Gooden and his amazing fade away jumper clunks not called selfish?

It is always Gordon that is selfish, despite the fact his assists are up this year and turnovers down. And he is averaging the highest points on the team and isn't getting blown away on defense like our friend Gooden and our league worst frontcourt is. How can he be getting a more than decent number of assists for a SG a game and still be called selfish at the same time?

You are dead on in your assessment of Gooden. The sad part is that Gooden is one of the better players on this team of malcontents.

I think the entire team is filled with selfish, unlikeable, and generally weak minded and weak bodied players (Rose is the only bright spot).

Paxson, BLOW UP THIS TEAM or resign!!! Bulls fans, stop attending and watching this horrible team....please.

Even though the white Hinrich plays in the nation's most racist city of literate and non-toothless cities, Hinrich deserves love from the fans.

I agree. It should be who fits with Rose and who doesn't fit with Rose. And if you don't fit with Rose you are out. We might take some hits at first, but the tone of the team is completely off and this is the second year of it being that way. They have no aggression or desire as a team. Atlanta has it. Heck, even Miami has a chip on their shoulder. We have nothing. That needs to be fixed right now before Rose learns how to be a loser by his loser teammates like Hughes and stoic uncaptain Deng (who got his unathletic "jam" blocked by the bottom of the rim twice in the last game).

Daily Horoscope for December 18

Aries

You'll be in a better position to get on well with someone who has power or authority over you. This might be your boss, some other authority figure, a friend you really respect or an older relative. Maybe you should chat up your superiors at the office Christmas party... or make more of an effort to understand what makes a certain person tick.
