Toronto Raptors' Jermaine O'Neal still working to get groove back

Full story: Orlando Sentinel

There was something very tender and familiar in watching the Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors during the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs last season.

Big game to keep these guys under our thumb, like Detroit has us. You dont want to give them any sign of life that they could beat us in the playoffs.

Yup, you can say that again...besides, I have developed a huge HATE phobia with this team, specifically BOSH!! Glad that maybe Calderon wont see the floor but Kapono had big games with us. We definitely need to have a cutthoat beatdown so that they dont look back.
This should be a good one. I know for sure the fans will be into it. But then again, it can turn ugly quick if we fall behind early.

Magic lose tonight, (unfortunately)...especially if Calderon's hamstring is ok and he plays.

Mark it down, O'Neal will never be the same again.

Honestly, I hate to agree with you but, YES that is very possible with or without Calderon.
But that is only due to our inconsistency, NOT our team talent.
We are a much better team, not including our bench. If we shoot 47%+ fg, they are toast and our defense is much better I think. Besides, I doubt they have an answer for Peitrus yet. Maybe Boone but we'll see.

You may be right. But he is playing pretty well right now and pairing with Bosh is scary.

Good luck to both teams tonight, this should be a very interesting matchup.

O yeah and to the guy who says O'neal will never be the same, duh! A couple major surgeries and the wrong side of 30 will do that to you, he will never regain the athleticism he had in his 20/10 seasons, but that hasn't stopped him from being a big presence on defense. Of course how that translates to defending Superman remains to be seen.

My key matchup is Bargnani vs Hedo, I honestly think Bargnani is capable of outplaying Hedo, its just a matter of him focussing on defense and playing smart. Bargnani is bigger and quicker than Hedo, and if he doesn't bite on Hedo's fakes he can really shut him down. Its just a matter of him doing it (which in the past has been rare).

Wow..first start for JJ....
Seems like he is holdhing his own out there.
**** so far 17min 5pt-2rb-1 stl.
Not too bad for a first start ever and his confidence being shot.

Ohh..and so much for J'Oneal will never be the same talk.
He is throwing jump shots and killing us from everywhere.
Hopefully, somebody stops that.
