Kobe Bryant has more than chants to be MVP

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

The chant has always been there. The truth behind it has not. During the first few years, it was a high-pitched dream.

Good stuff, Plaschke. Hope you win in Around the Horn today. Kobe deserves that MVP, coming from someone who has watched him evolve from the biggest ballhog EVER to the leader often reminiscent of Jordan.

I AM A HUGE NBA FAN , BUT I FEEL KOBY BRYANT IS NO MVP AND HE DOESNT DESERVE TO BE A MVP. KOBY BRYANT NO MATTER HOW MUCH THE NBA TRYS TO MAKE HIM LIKE THE GREATEST PLAYER WILL NEVER EVER BE ABLE TO HOLD THE SHOES OF SOMEONE LIKE MICHEAL JORDAN. SHAQ IS THE REASON KOBY WON ALL HIS CHAMPIONSHIPS.

MVP PLAYER SHOULD BE A PLAYER LIKE DWAYNE WADE WHO SINGLE HANDIDLY TOOK THE HEAT TO THE NBA CHAMPIONSHIP AND WON IT OR LIKE DAN MARINO YEARS OF PLAYING WITH LOSERS AND MAKING THEM WINNERS

KOBY WINS THE MVP YOU HAVE DISGRACED THE SPORT AND MIGHT AS WELL GIVE RICKY WILLIAMS MVP ALSO.....

While I think Kobe is the best baller in the game, the season is only half over, so let's wait and see.

I have watched the Lakers since the early 80's and Kobe is by far one of the most talented players ever to play the game! He deserves the MVP title this year because he has evolved as a player and a leader of this young Laker team. I currently live in Mesa, Arizona and still sport my Lakers shirts, my Championship Flags! GO LAKERS and don't HATE KOBE cause he is #1!!!!!

It's funny how everyone goes back to Kobe's alleged rape of a girl who freely and wantingly went to HIS hotel room to do just what she got. Kobe didn't rape her. She was a whore who got what she deserved. Apparently, no one remembers how many samples of semen they found on her. Hello! People can think what they want about him personally, but no one can deny that he is one of the most talented players to play the game ever! Again, don't hate!

Whao!!! MVP Crazy!!! I was at the Heat vs. Laker game in Miami and I saw more Kobe Bryant jerseys than Heat jerseys. When Kobe went to the three point line you heard the chants MVP, MVP...I shouted like crazy to support the best player of the league. I think I shouted louder than my two teenage boys. I completely agree he should be MVP this year. It would be only fair and a well deserved award to the BEST PLAYER of the NBA. Love you Kobe.

If Kobe wins MVP, then Pat Riley deserves Executive of the Year. He gave the gift that keeps on giving in Shaq that helped put the Lakers where they are now.

He is undoubtedly the best individual player, but is that the same thing as the most val player? I don't know for sure, but I am inclined to say no. The reason-- he is all about Kobe. An mvp in my book is about helping the team.
Sorry if that offends anybody.
He deserves it

It's a shame that the NBA future MVP and it's current poster child is nothing more then a high priced thug who raped a girl and got off by paying her off. Then he payed his wife off to stay with him. His money and bank roll was just to phat for her to walk away. She liked the NBA wife job she has to much to throw it all away. Then Kobe's lawyers threatned to smear the victims name all over the place.
Amen!!

I agree.. nbc analyst has not been watching the game or reading the reviews from experts. Kobe has been noted mostly for making his team players better this season. Hello.....

Aye Kobe should have been the MVP, the last 2 yeras. I know people talk about the person who makes his teammates etter. But until this year Kobe had no teammates. I really never like his personality because since he came in the league he was so arrogant. But to be honest since he came in the league, I was like this guy is special. And for the past 5 years I have been saying this is the baddest man in the league. He score, shoot, and play D at an elite level. And if you look at the Mavs if Dirk was not there I think they still would make the playoffs(Not a top seed, but an appearance), because he has been contain by smaller and less talented ball players i.e.Bowen, Jackson, Haslem. I think the Suns would still had made the playoffs without Nash(before his arrival, injuries prevented the team success, but year prior they made the playoffs with a rookie Amare). But without Kobe the Lakers would have been a top 5 pick selection team. I hope he finally gets it this year, he deserves it.

Moron, Wade should be MVP this year on a 10-44 team? DUMBASS. Kobe is the best player in the NBA and is carrying the LAkers. Hes around great talen,t but hes the main reason why thay have a great shot of winning the NBA title. MVP isnt about whats going on in your personal life. Kobe deserves MVP and it would be a travesty is he doesnt get it.

My vote is Kobe, but Lebron is a beast. Its so scary how he his game elevated so fast. He can defend, rebound, pass, and score. All he needs is to improve his jumper(And even that is progressively improving) he might even surpass Kobe at this stage in his career, which isn't even his prime yet. And to the post about an MVP is a player like Wade... I like Wade, he is a great player, but he never led the Heat to winning record by himself. The year they won a championship they were 13-18 until Shaq returned and last year they were 11th in the East until he got hurt and Shaq led the team to 3rd fighting for 2nd in the east until Wade returned. Wade is good, but the best two players in the league is Kobe and in a close 2nd is Lebron.

JJJ: You, who is without sin, get over it! Use your God-given intelligence!! Think about what you're saying before you open your mouth. CRAZYMAN: You ARE crazy! Shaq needed Kobe just as much as Kobe needed him! Did you watch them play together? Have you been watching him (Shaq) play now?? Can anybody tell me what standards did they use to give Dirk the MVP?

Considering the changes Kobe has made in his game(which are apparent, just check his stats)the young team he has around him,and the difficulty that is the Western Conference. I say he deserves it by a wide margin. Is funny how people bring up stuff from years ago that was not even proven!!!like my mans Jay-Z says "let's stop the bull#$#@,till we all without sin lets stop the pullpittin
