Gotta take a look at Michael Cooper a defensive-minded coach as an addition to the Lakers if Phil Jackson leaves, even if he doesn't but if he does you must look at him to do so if Brian Shaw accepts the offer from Cleveland to coach. It is only right that you have 2 former- Showtime-Era Laker greats, to tone and tweak the new Lakers offense. Provided Phil leaves the team, you have enough of a respect from the Laker core to go on in a new direction. I could see the current core of the Lakers, Artest, Kobe, Gasol, and definitely others like Odom and Derek Fisher embracing and learning a new system and executing it to perfection over the course of a couple of months.
