i don't understand what you're basing your analysis off of... why don't you look at the past 20 games or so, or even 40... where the lakers had a winning rate that would have propelled them to 66 wins in the WEST had they started the season with pau gasol... and why dont you look at the stats the lakers put up against the more competitive west compared to the stats the celtics put together against the not-so-hot east.... you just sound like an idiot taking the otherside just for the hell of it...

Nice job, Steve.
I hate those goddamn mofo Celts, their worthless history, and their thug fans.
However, I'd be very surprised if the Lakers prevail this series. The main reason -- one that trumps Kobe's dominance -- is what you pointed out: it's now or never for Boston.
Next year, with the addition of a healthy Bynum and a healthy Ariza, the team could win 70-plus games. And the KG Celts will be a fading memory, similar to the one-shot '04 Pistons.
But that's then. It will make me sick to see it, but I think green will hold the crown in two weeks.

By far the best written article on the Finals match-up !!!! As you said the Celtics "new big 3" are just as hungry/motivated to win a championship this year as Kobe is, despite what the media says. As you said and as game 1 proved, the regular season games meant something when it comes to the Celtics keeping Kobe under control.(The 24 points he had in game 1 is not an off game for Bryant in the playoffs. It's a typical game for him when he plays the Celtics.) You are the 1st person smart enough to publicly state adding Gasol and losing Bynum was pretty much a wash. Anyone who really looked at their stats this year should be able to figure that out.
