greg nichols, Carmel Crackhead, pokernut, and Ta Dow are right,

FORGET about hiring a new coach until you've fired Larry Bird and hired his replacement first! Why should this new guy have to work with a coach that Bird hired? Unless they replace Bird, it won't matter who they hire.

One thing is for sure firing Larry Bird would due all pacers fans justice. Larry I know for a fact that you are not reading the outrage among the fans but at least give us hope for the future or else leave while you still have some creditably left.

What about Tony Dungy? I'm sure he would be considered if he had been a teammate of Bird's at any point. That seems to be our only requirement.

I'm hearing Reggie Theus's name as a possibility. He already had a chat with Charlotte. Reggie's a very good college recruiter and promoter, but he's not an Xs and Os coach. Just thought I would give a heads up.

Didn't the Pacers trade a draft pick to the Celtics for Johnny Davis, who used it to draft Larry Bird?

THESE GUYS GET IT!! Bird needs to go. He may have been a great player but he doesn't have a clue how to handle his position with the PACERS!

The New York Post says that Stan Van Gundy is the prohibitive favorite over
Shaw and Davis. I hope its not true because that will mean another coach who favors a plodding, slow boring offense and quality team defense. Why hire a coach who isn't as talented as your last coach and who will basically also coach the team into the ground. Pacers fans revolt.

The fact of the matter is, is that the whole pacers office (not just Larry) dosn't do anything but listen to the press and sports shows. The true way to win is to play the best all-around players possible, not just label characters with what you here and see on the news. We had good players that had off the court issues but we got scared and traded them. It all started with the Artest trade when we should have gotten rid of O'neil. Now (besides Granger) we have very few role players at best.
