Heat blows 23-point lead, still worst in NBA

The Sacramento Kings were on the verge of relegation to the D-League. Surely that must be the penalty for losing twice within a six-day span to the Heat. Read more

A disgrace. As they look now, the Heat would have trouble winning in the D-League. Admit it, Riley the great motivator is not only a lousy builder of teams, he can't even get the ones he builds to play.

We obviously tanked this one,in spectacular fashion. This was all SCRIPTED. I was so upset when we were up by 20, gotta give credit to the guys for making it look like they were actually trying to grab a road win.

Let's face it.........the Heat are a team of losers........

they can't play defense and they don't know how to score...

chalk up this year and start the arduous task of rebuilding for the coming years !

I think this loss was deliberate. They won't admit to it obviously, but had they won, the Timberwolves would take the top spot in the draft lottery. They mentioned this in the broadcast during the 2nd period. Why give up so many fouls in the 3rd? Did they forget how to play basketball? or was it deliberate? We'll never know

Admit it? 15 Strong ring a bell to you? No amount of motivation can make this team have the same talent of the 2006 team. So, the fact that Sacramento had a great second half and the Heat had a great first half evened out and Sacramento won. Big deal.

you are absolutely correct, why win a basketball game and gives up a chance of getting a franchise player in the draft. pat is not that stupid.

And when the lottery balls do not fall your way? Miami is not playing its way out of the lottery and the worst record does not bring Rose or Beasley so where is the benefit?

Even Riley doesn't look stressed out anymore. It's like they showed sacremento,"we can kick your butt" in the first half, then it was like ,what are we doing? we need to loose to get Beasley.
I guess they're providing just enough entertainment to sell seats.
If they get Beasley or Rose and pickup a good player or two and play well next year i'm ok with that.
If they get good players and still look like schleps..then you have to take a look at Riley.

I understand the logic and what you guys are saying definately makes sense, but do you really feel players who get paid all this money would purposely lose?

Somebody explain how this lottery works.
The team with the worst record gets more Balls? Ten balls if your the worst,8 if your the second worst, 6 if your the third, like that?

To purposely lose would be stupid. Do you want a team that does not care about winning? If they are just goofing around get rid of Wade, Marion, Haslem and the rest. They are ALL losers.
You need a team that tries and is going to be better next year. If Pat Riley had both Beasley and Rose he would play neither (since when does Pat play rookies)? Dwyane Wade got his shot from Van Gundy.

So who do you credit for the championship, Antoine Walker? If not Wade's doing then who?

Ahh, someone who did not watch the 2005 playoffs and the 2006 playoffs. The hype was for James and the other guys picked before Wade. Wade had no hype, was on a below .500 team, and became an All-Star. No Hype, just NBA Finals MVP talent that rose to the top when it mattered. Ask Dirk Nowitzki about hype....
