I really think Carlos and Jameer are going to shine under Van Gundy.

God I hope Carlos and Jameer shine, they are small but have so much potential. I think they are the second key to defense, minimize turnovers and get the assists. The third key is the 3 point shot, if Carlos, Jameer, JJ, Bogans, Dooling, and Garity pop from outside the Mgic will be very hard to beat. Wonder how the team has worked on free throws?

The key is that coach Van Gundy gives Nelson and Arroyo there comfidence back. 8 of the 9 players who see action last night have 8 point or more. Exelent game for Carlos and Nelson

I was at the game. Some observations:
1) You could see the beginnings of the inside-out offense. Dwight needs to do a better job of passing to the open shooter, but I think that will come.
2)Whether it was China jet lag, or the Spurs defense, there was not a lot of that up-tempo offense we've been hearing about.
3)Adonal Foyle is a great pick up for the Magic. Solid D, good rebounding, and reasonably productive on the offensive end.
4) Carlos had a couple of bonehead plays, but overall he was solid at the point.

Arroyo had good stats but he did nothing to get others involved. He just kept taking shots and trying to be too fancy. Everytime he made a nice pass he would follow with a poor play. It didn't hurt us tonight because he was on, but he is off more nights than he is on and his inability to get others involved will hurt some nights.

The team looked best during a stretch with Nelson, Ariza, Lewis Howard and Foyle on the floor. Bogans also looked good when he was out there moving Ariza or Turk to the 3 and Lewis to the 4.

Lewis got burned on defense a little but he may be slow from the ankle. He definitely showed that he can rise up on anyone and get his shot. When it is falling he will be deadly.

I was worried that we would get exposed by the Spurs front line, but Ginobli was the only Spur that was able to score.

I hate to say it but Garrity gave some good minutes too. We didn't lose much when he was out there and he kept his man out of the lane for Howard.

Foyle looks to be a good pick up. I think he is trying to prove something, the way he is hustling out there. I have seen all of the preseason games (except against the Chinese Nationals) and Foyle may be a fan favorite this year with his work ethic (like Outlaw). Let's hope he keeps it up.

I'm sure you don't see the game Arroyo only make 1 TO (not a lot of poor plays),Olso he have 4 Assi.(other players involved) and 16 point in only 24 min.

Olso the Magic wins the 2 quarters that Arroyo plays.

Are you nuts

What is you peoples problem? Carlos play great last night. He show why he should be the starting PG. I like Jameer to but he not as good as Arroyo. He can make a good back up. Carlos is one of the best PG in the league just not given the chance to show. Stop being raceist and give him a chance!

He was lucky last night as I said and I admitted that for last night he was on. The problem with the stats you mentioned is that they don't always tell the whole story. Several times last night, Arroyo will dribble the ball down the court and pull up for a shot without making any passes or working the offense. That causes everyone else to stop running plays, setting screens, or making cuts. Fortunately for the Magic, Arroyo was hitting those shots last night but he is off more nights than he is on. Simply put, the offense does not feel smooth with that ball hog on the court. Trust me that by the end of the season he will only be playing 5-10 minutes if not traded

STH, you say that Arroyo ¨did nothing to get others involved. He just kept taking shots and trying to be too fancy. Everytime he made a nice pass he would follow with a poor play. It didn't hurt us tonight because he was on, but he is off more nights than he is on and his inability to get others involved will hurt some nights.¨ Do you know that affective prejudice refers to what people like and dislike and that an example of this type of prejudice is in attitudes toward members of particular classes such as race, ethnicity, national origin, or creed. I saw a different game than what you are describing.

Well, I hope the regular season goes this well. We beat in preseason the Cavs (the eastern Conf. Champs!) and the Spurs (the NBA Champs!). I can't wait until the season starts. Bring it on! GO MAGIC!

"Arroyo for presidente, he da best!!! He allstar material. He will carry the Magic team to the finals. The one true star is Arroyo on the Magic team, not HOward or Lewis. They are scrubs compared to Arroyo."

This is generally what Arroyo lovers want all of us to say, and not the truth. The truth of the matter is STH has made a fantastic point. and it is true, thats why it hurts for Arroyo lovers to hear it.

It's not the Hispanic people in general. Only Puerto Ricans think that Carlos is the best player for in the NBA. He is the best Puerto Rican player that's ever played for the NBA. He is a good back up and YES...Arroyo is off in most nights. To me arroyo is here and will probably stay here due to the people that he's able to bring to the arena!
