actually, the third, possibly better option would be to have him meet with a psychologist. he sounds depressed. he's 21 years old. cut him some slack and get him some help.

There is no place in a team for this kind of behavior. Thomas has been given a chance too many. Noah and Sefolosha have risen to the challenge and are bright spots in a depressing scene. The game with the Cavs was good and shows that there is potential despite everything.

Brent, totally agree. Who didn't blow it many times at 21. Check this out; Noah yelling at assistant coaches and getting suspended, Thomas missing a practice and getting suspended. Is this kindof thing happening anywhere else in the league where an underachieving, bottom-feeding team benches their two top draft picks who just happen to come from championship caliber collegiate programs and don't think there will be a response-in-kind? If you're a bottom feeder, why aren't you playing your top draft picks? Thomas was getting better then Boylan benches him to play Luol I'm-not-gonna-sign-for-50 million Deng. Plays Thomas only 9 minutes the game after a double-double. Not like Boylan is headed to the hall of fame either for his evalution of talent or coaching proficiency. And you don't think a 21 year old is not going to get upset?

He has been suspended, fined and fined again by the team. It is about time he grows up. That what basketball gets for signing these immature children and gives them huge amounts of money. Obviously, money is not a controlling factor in this guys life so something else needs to be done. Suspend him for rest of year. Quit coddling him just put him on the bench for rest of year. Maybe he will catch on that it is time to grow up and accept some responsibility.

This seems like an overreaction. He missed practice - he didn't kick puppies or get a DUI or anything. He isn't a thug for missing practice. Come on already! He is serving his suspensions and that is the end of it.

After following this sad and disgusting season, I wonder if the Coach sets aside 15 minutes each practice day for allowing the young players to apologize for their immature, stupid, and questionable. Player apologies are more common place than a Bulls victory these days.

Marc -

I think your comments were very very ignorant and not well thought out. He said he had personal matters and that is that. Personal matters. Just because he has millions doesn't mean that he doesn't have problems. You seem to forget that pro athletes are people just like you and I. Money doesn't make problems go away. And the media, as usual, does not know the whole story. It's speculation because he isn't telling them why he missed practice on Wednesday. Tyrus has an incredible work ethic and he loves to play the game. He said it had nothing to do with wanting to be traded, but his frustration is understandable.

He apologized to his teammates, he's paid his fines. He also said he should've handled the situation better. Everybody makes mistakes. What more do you want from him?

No one is being coddled here. It's the nature of the business. He's not causing a major distrubance in Chicago. That was one incident.

I agree with Quills.
Thomas is talented. And you know what? ON a team that cannot make the playoffs, I think it is better to take your bumps and bruises now, and go young, and give these kids the experiences to at least test. Skiles is out, and if they dont bring in a patient coach, who is thinking future, then Paxson should have his head on the chopping block
Add the #1 draft pick.
