The style of play by the Wiz shows that they know that they are the inferior team. So they use thug tactics to see if they can get the Cavs to stoop to their level and not just play the game as it should be played. This shows Washington to be a classless organization from the top down. Also disturbing is that the commisioner, David Stern, encourages this type of behavior by not leveling bigger fines or handing down suspensions. I guess Stern takes his cues from professional wrestling, good guys vs. bad guys makes for good drama, so who cares about the integrity of the game. If cooler heads don't prevail and a brawl breaks out all the blame goes to Vince McMann, I mean David (All I care about is ratings) Stern. BTW I'm super thanks for asking.....

To win tonight,Delonte and Gibson, need to knock down shots, and limit TURNOVERS,LeBron has to shoot better than 56% form the charity stripe and go to the hole,Wally needs to,Make shots,Z has to show up,other wise this eerie feeling I'm getting will open a HORNETS nest for the Cavs,They must bring energy to the floor.I Hate this DEMENTED group of future convicts.Go Cavs make this an enjoyable night for All.I agree with David Sternless policy, never would happen in L.A.

I hope Joe Smith gets more minutes tonight. He is one of the steadiest, most consistent all around players on this team. An excellent shooter, a tenacious rebounder, and a good defender. having Joe with Andy and Z with Ben on the front lines keeps rebounding and shooting and defense in the line-up. Having Andy and Ben together takes away any real scoring threat down low. Let's whip the wizards and get ready for the Hawks! Wouldn't that be something if the Hawks upset the Celts??? The Celts are overrated!

It is very sad to see/watch over paid NBA players display poor sportmanship. I truely hope when this type of behavior is displayed at a public school's basketball game, the players are kicked off the team.

This whole annoying thing was started and fueled by the media. That is how they make money today.

How true but Andy needs to be Andy, not try to be some prolific scorer, playing for some undesereved 9 mill a year, play tough, high energy, and move on offense don't stand at the top of the key,and limit the dribbling,Joe Smith I agree needs more playing time.

No, it was not. It was started with a couple of Section 8'ers now playing in the NBA for the Wizards running their mouths. Except for ONE game, they've been getting their clocks cleaned.

Tonight is going to be one hell of a night at the Q! I hope the noise is so loud that ears start to bleed.

Wow now I've heard it all for desperation, the Wiz's 84 year old owner suffering from a debilitating disease was forced up the stairs on his wheel chair to talk to the team to win one for the dementia ridden owner, this is so bad what they do for ? motivation, maybe they should dig up a few dead people who loved the Bullets,my God when will it end,Tonight!! Go Cavs.

imagine a world where a journalist has the nerve to sit comfortably in his home or office and complain about a team complaining about basketball - while people are fighting and dying overseas....
that is a tired, useless and asinine lazy-writers gimmick. booo. i hope no one paid to read that.

I'm sure many a reader felt the same way after reading Tom Knott's article in the Washington Times today.

The Wizards will be OWNED for the third year in a row tonight.

Exactly.....anyone wanna start a pool on the date that Stevenson ends up in jail? I'll go with next Saturday.

Isn't this the same writer who said Larry Hughes was a bum because he thought there were more important things than basketball.

Yes, that's the same larry Hughes who visits sick children in hospitals and is building a complex in his hometown to help mentor kids and keep them off the streets.

Welcome to the real world Mr. McManamon.

agreed wonder - i'm not here to support the wiz - i'm a little embarrassed by their showing actually, but to use the argument that there's more important stuff going on, while obviously true, is absurd. any sports event is clearly a waste of time and energy when looked at from this perspective.

That's a sorry article. Comparing the tornados as "real" news to the stuff the media has taken time to write about the Cavs series? It's crazy. Tornados belong in the World news, like it always is, and the trash talk belongs in sports. It's always been there since the dawn of time, but now we have a camera, or microphone to record every gesture and comment. Get used to it, it's f**ing normal. I prefer a team to be fired up, and when are you ever going to get another series where Jay-Z actually raps about it? CLASSIC series even if it ends at 5 games tonight.

brittle fingers -
after reading this article and tom knott's article, my reaction is that this has gotten waaaay too personal, when even the writers are slamming the other team.
sadly, it's more my wizards fault. but i don't think they said or did anything out of line, with the huge exception of stevenson, who's deal with lebron is personal and should not have involved the other players.

i don't think gilbert was really talking trash (or wrong) when he said other eastern teams wanted cleveland - they were really shaky after the trade.

congrats - they sure as hell have our number.

I dont agree with this article. It's the off court antics that have everyone watching this series! This has been the most exciting series to watch out of all the games going on right now. I agree that maybe it has went a little too far...but drama is what makes it interesting. Nobody has got hurt and nobody has died so what's the problem? Yes people have died in iraq and 2 people shot etc...but that is what CNN is for. People watch Basketball to take their minds OFF of all the seriousness in the world and this has been what it was meant to do...ENTERTAIN! Thank you Cavs/Washington for making life a little easier during these rough times. Yes there are more important things in the world...so why are'nt you writing about that then? This is what sports are for...Yes they are million dollar men going back and forth in the media...but you're watching and so is the rest of the world. Some of those soldiers over there in Iraq are emailing back home just to see if their home team has won...so dont tell me about more important things. This is what keeps people going during the hard times...laughter, competition, excitment...this series has it all.

"Guys making millions are whining about being disrespected while taking and giving cheap shots during a basketball game."
#1 person to do this: Lebron James. why doesn't he just go home to his momma and cry in her tits. and i like how you just ignored damon jones doing the same exact gesture earlier in the season.

You're kidding!? LeBron being the top whiner - give me a break. I think he has handled himself very well in light of what he has had to put up with from the Wiz players.
