D'Antoni goes to Knicks without hearing Bulls' offer

Full story: Chicago Tribune

An action-packed, intense 24 hours now likely will cede to a slow march to the next Bulls coach after Mike D'Antoni took his run-and-gun fun to the New York Knicks on Saturday.

You news medias are just too nice to John, which is understandable. John is a well repectful person both as a player and a manager. While he may be one of the safe bet as a manager, he will never become a great one, just like he was not a great player even though he has the ability to be one. As a player, he always afraid to shoot even though he's one of the better shooter on the team, casue on his mind, he's afraid not to make them and got blame.
That's John, that's why he couldn't land Kevin, Kobe or Gasol, that's why you would see Larry Brown, Rick Carlisle, or Mike go, one by one. Cause whith John, he's still listing all the 1000 or so risks he may have which he would say he has to, while others already made a decisive move.

Bulls will be a good team as long as John's in charge, but will never come a great one if John's around.
Forget about the championship, just get use to it with about 45 wins a season !

Bulls asleep at the wheel again. When was the last time this franchise got the coach or player it wanted? 1984 in the first round? I'm sure they would have picked Sam Bowie if he was available.
Um, he was.

Cheer up, everybody. Mike D'Antoni just spurned Chicago, sure...and now he actually has to make Eddy Curry RUN. The tar pit that is the Knicks organization did not magically turn to diamonds. If you thought he looked stressed out in Phoenix with All-Stars like Stoudemire and Nash, he's going to need an oxygen mask to deal with the likes of Zach Randolph and Starbury. It will take him less time to count his money in nickels than it will to field a winner in New York.

The Bulls always hesitate when it comes to pulling the trigeer on any daring deal. Garnet, Bryant, Gasol and now D'Antoni. Let's see if they can land Tom Thibodeau...and let's see if he will be effective as a head coach.

Hey John, Jerry is Sandbagging and waiting till you are the only option left. You will have to except and you will fail because of your poor rating of talent, then you will be let go next year and the Bulls fans will be left on spin cycle for sometime to come

Every delusional "fan" that posts about Paxson not having the balls to pull the trigger needs to get real about the team we have. Other teams/coaches just didn't want what the Bulls had to offer. Pax went strong after KG with an offer of Chandler, Deng, and the #2 pick in the '06 draft. It was the imbecile in Minnesota that turned it away to deal with his buddy. Kobe was always a pipe dream. With his no-trade clause, and Reinsdorf unwilling to throw in a bloated contract for PJ Brown, the Bulls didn't have anything remotely close to a fair deal for the Lakers. Gasol is the only player we could have had, but Memphis was trying to fleece us. Replacing Thabo, Deng, and Noah with Gasol would have made the team worse than the 20 win Grizzly team and over the cap and unable to make adjustments.
Maybe D'Antoni just cared more about the prestige of coaching at MSG than the roster of players he's inheriting.
Scapegoats are nice, but I prefer reality.

The Bulls cannot do anything right. Paxson needs to be more decisive and hopefully Reinsdorf will allow him to do just that. Very dissapointing and a major setback for the team and I believe a door that will now open for Avery Johnson. There really are not a loy of great choices left.

I don't blame D'Antoni for taking the knicks offer, how stupid for the Bulls to know that other teams were out there willing to offer D'Antoni a contract and the Bulls want to interview the guy four or five times what a joke of an organization, the Bulls deserve all the blame for screwing this up especially for a guy D'Antoni who initally wanted to be here

When it comes to things like this Jerry Reinsdorfs teams are always a day late but never a dollar short on the balance sheet. This worked out great for him but as usual not so great for the fans of the team.

Absolutely classic Chicago sports team - always settling for second (or worse) best. Funny how the Knicks got what they wanted - no messing around, no second guessing. They wanted D' Antoni and got him.

The Bulls, on the other hand, are still trying to figure out if they want an offensive-minded coach, defensive-minded coach, coach with head coaching experience, an assistant coach they can pay peanuts to so he can have his first head coaching job, and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

By the time the Jerry and John show make up their collective minds, they'll be lucky to hire a decent high school coach.

Paxson should be fired. He was after Dantoni only because the media has mentioned that he is the sexy pic right now. The Phoenix style of play will not work here in Chicago. We will not win a championship running up and down the floor trying to outscore everyone. Avery Johnson is a better fit here. He can help the Bulls develop some of the young players that we keep drafting. Paxson continues to emulate his older brother as a GM. Cleveland ran Jim Paxson out of town for letting Carlos Boozer get away. What is it going to take to end this Paxson regime?? Another 5 years of mismanagement?? Michael & Scottie where are you :-(

Compared to all the chapionships we have been running playing this shitty offense and stressing Defense to players who could care less??? Forgive me for not giving a crap about D'Antoni having not won a championship cause the Bulls aren't close nor will they ever be with that Baffoon of a GM. He would have made it exciting and we DO have players that would fit that system. Plus he is awesome and developing young talent.

The Paxson brothers have no F**king clue of what they are doing and it shows in every thing they do!!! I am so F**cking Pissed!!! He whiffed on Carlise and D'Antoni... W T F! His grand plan is to develop the SHIT we all saw last year?!?!?!?! Brilliant!

Krumbs, unfortunately, everything you said is correct however, we have nothing to show from the Eddy Curry trade.
