Great post Chris, and I totally agree - there are a few teams the Media are in love with, the Lakers being one. I have confidence that the Nuggets can beat the Lakers in the playoffs.

Stop fooling urself .... The Lakers don't take regular season games serious .... do your realize that the lakers have beaten the nuggets 8 outta 10 times when it really matters... In the post season?... Recall the 4-2 series from last year and the the sweep from the year before ....the thuggets don't have a chance ..... It will be a good series but come on... Last year was the first time the nuggets had ever been n the conference finals and that clearly states they have never won a finals game or a ship.... Stop hating cuz The Lakers have proven time and time again why they are the best team n the league

kobe girl: yes phil is right that wins don't mean anything until june, but your lakers are not nearly as consistent as last year. Kobe is hurting again, and deteriorating quickly verses a stronger, more athletic nuggets team.
eman: why all the old gay hate? didnt your state have gay marriage for a while? Aren't you guys(cali) straight broke? I guess your to busy worrying about how damn cold that water is that you dont surf because your fata$$ watches espn(lakers vision) too much!
eman: this is the closest the lakers have to a rivalry, and in may when the nuggets beat the lakers in 5 games.... you will be crying.... it will become a rivalry, until kobe gets a year older and melo gets a year stronger..... and lakers will have to start over with a bunch of characters that are about as tough as the brady bunch
Go Nuggets!! all you LA people, choke on your smog and smug, then come to my state and spend your last few $$ to ski in my mountains.
By the way.... LA is not a city, more of a sprawl of wannabe slumdog/actor/fake people, your cool residents come and live in colorado.

I have to agree with you there bud. The Fakers are a bandwagon team, that's why the media loves them. Kobe is a crybaby, he plays dirty and is always trying to get a foul called that wasn't there. Gasol is over rated, he has nothing going for him than his height, which I think Nene has proved in the last couple games...doesn't matter. Artest is just like Kobe, he's a dirty player who isn't worth the Charmin extra soft he wipes his ass with. I can't wait until the next time they meet when Melo gives Artest a good spanking all up and down the court. Afflalo held Kobe to 3-17, showing you Kobe's true ability to play...which is quickly going down. These lakers fans will say they have the best team in the league, but they know better. The post season will tell the tale, when the Fakers fall. There is no shame in losing to a better team, but the Fakers are not a better team, and come playoff's time...you Faker bandwagon morons will find this out the hard way.

You shouldnt still be mad about kobe ass fcking ur sister, and dont be bitter that you dont live in LA. All I ever hear from middle America is how shty LA is, and yet every time i turn around i see another kook from colorado moving in. The nuggets are right their with the clippers for worst franchise ever, so just keep quiet in your little redneck town and watch while LA wins # 16

I agree Chris. As long as Kobe/Labron are around, the Nuggets will get no respect or calls. but after last nights game the Nuggets didn't do themselves any justice. They either run or stand there like a deer in headlights.

Nuggets are good - but they are not yet at the level of the Lakers. The guys around Kobe are very, very good.

You're not paying proper attention. In the first meeting, the Lakers - after arriving in Denver at 4 or 5 AM in the morning - did not have Pau Gasol on the court. In the second meeting, the Nuggets shot a ridiculous 3-pt. percentage from the floor.

Neither event that led to the Nuggets win is likely to happen again, or at least not likely to happen four times in a seven-game series. Coupled with the Lakers' handling of Denver last season in the WCF, and you have the media dismissing a Nuggets team that didn't do a damn thing in the offseason to assist its current crop of players.

And they're right. Of course, the meeting in April at Pepsi Center will reveal a lot...but it doesn't look like Denver is the second-best team in the WC anymore.

And just to pour salt in your wounds, I dug up this quote from 'Melo after Denver's first rout of LA:

"'I don't really think it's possible to have a 'Melo stopper," Anthony said. "No team in the NBA will just let me play 1-on-1 against them. They just won't do it.'"

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Phil Jack and Ron-Ron called his bluff there, and it worked. Never underestimate Ron Artest. He can get inside anyone's head; that's why the Lakers got him.
