exactly. if things don't pan out this year, shaq and walker should offer to renegotiate their salary in the next coming years or be threatened with trade or cut and bought out.
sorry man but your stupid. First they can not renegotiate their contracts. Second wo in the world would buy out a $20 million and $10 million dollar salary. It just doesn't add up. Next time write something smart. The Heat just have to ride out Walker's contract. And please Heat fans stop hating on your own team. Yes maybe they had a bad draft and did not get anything good out of the Free agent Market but J Will will start because he is my dawg and as long as he stays healthy he is a bad ass passer. And please do not even bringup the Celtics. Yeah they might have those so called big 3, but none of them have even seen the damn finals. Be on the look out for some hungry Heat players this year.

Why can't Shaq and Walker give some money back to the team if they want? Maybe I'm being naive, but call it a gift. No way does Shaq need another $20 million this year!

if shaq hadnt came to the heat you would not have a championship but all i read is all this trash talking about how bad he is.most teams would give $200000 for 1 year for that.the heat will always be a contender as long as shaq is there just ask koby.or look at his first year with you guys you should have 2 championships and you had nobodys wade excluded from that.quiet crying.

the heat have the players they need to get back to the finals they have shaq and wade and everyone is down on walker but he is a past all-star who might of just had a bad year? he has proven he can put up 20 a game he may just be what we are looking for and we already have him. so if you call yourself heat fans stand behind them not stab them in the back for 1 bad season. really 1 bad match up. you love em when they win you think there over pad losers when they dont win it all.com e on you can do better than that cant you?

I agree with Ismal. The Heat will come back hungry and win one this year. Although the Heat did not make any major moves through the draft or through free agency. They will be fine. And for everyone who kepp saying the Heat mortgage there future for Shaq, believe it or not without Shaq we would not even be in discussions for contenders in the east. Yeah the Heat made it to semis without him a year prior to his arrival but look at the roster we had. Wade was the third scorer then and the top two were Eddie Jones(old) and Lamar Odom (one hit wonder, he has not accomplish the success he had with LA as he did with us). Caron is the only one people can argue. But where would we be with just Caron and Wade? in a worser position. Shaq can still hold his own when Wade went down we were a couple games out of the 2 seed before Wade early returned. We need Shaq and believe it or not we need Walker too. Yeah he is the a very inconsistent shooter, but look at the series against the bulls Wade did not perform well and due poor officiating Shaq performance was limited each game. But Walker kept us in the game, I know i have a lot of contrary views but we lost each game except for game 2 in the last 2 min. and I don't care what anyone say Walker was hoopin!!! And I challenge anyone to watch games of that series.
Also we need quick saying the East getting better while Heat is not. The top teams in the East are still the Pistons, Heat, and the Cavaliers. The Bulls beat an injury prone Heat team. You know your team is injured when the most athletic player on your team can't stick Hinrich. Hinrich is good but on his best day he can't escape or defend a healthy Wade. And we know that without officials bias calls Shaq even in this stage of his career owns Wallace. Magics added Rashard Lewis he is good but with him it doesnt make them an automatic contender. Remember he played for Seattle and compare their starting five with orlando's last year and you will see they were the better team. And Boston although they added two stars have no depth and unproven chemistry. in Boston who's the man KG or Pierce? Was I the only person to notice the unenthusiasm in Pierces tone? We remember Wades enthusiasm with the arrival of Shaq. I have a weird uncertain vibe with this squad (May be the NBA version of the NY Mets with Mo Vaugh, J Burnitz, and Robby Alomar all of whom were perenial all-stars in their respected sport). And can I say neither one have a successful resume when it comes to the playoffs.
The Heat will be fine and D Wright show signs of potential through limited play we know he can rebound and play defense. He just needs to get stronger and like walker, improve on shot selections. The Heat will be fine and as long as we have Shaq playing we are automatic playoff bids. Just look at the past two seasons the Heats standings without the Big Diesel. All are below .500 ball and out of the playofs until his return.

remember the year you won it all ? the offence went through shaq first then he made wade a superstar just like he said he would when he first got there remember? now the offence goes through wade first and first round sweep thanks to chiago remember? put the ball in the old mans hands and let him run the offence wade will still get his 28 points a game and the heat will get another championship.shaq shots 60 + percent he just dont get enough shots. i dont care who they have they can win if they go back to what worked in the first place.if it aint broke why fix it? your mistake last year. thats why you think shaq is washed up not enough touches thanks to wade. but i love wade just think he should wait his turn to take over offence till shaq is retired. thats what magic did with kareem and look at them 5 championships. its up to pat he got shaq start using him not d-wright or 3rd scorer just shaq 1st then wade =championship. i have watched b-ball for 33 years and seen the best they all used their best weapons time to start using yours.

I agree with you. Even if Shaq does not shoot the ball alongs as he touches it he draws double teams, which sets up other players. Wade is a great player and he has a bright future ahead of him, but he caan not carry a team by himself without the other players involve. Most people will bring up the 2006 finals, but they forget the defense haslem played on dirk, perimeter defense by payton, the inside presence of shaq, and the front court defense of Zo( 6 blocks in game 6). But just remember the past two seasons when Shaq was out they werent even in playoff contention until his return. Wade is a great player whether Shaq is there or not he will put up 28-30 a night, but the team will be about 5 under .500. The stats don't lie. Not to say he won't be the player to be bale to lead his team such as Jordan, Bird or Magic. He just hasn't reach that point in his career yet.

I keep hearing the Heat aren't done and they're trying to get M Pietrus from the Warriers. But what if they set their sights a little higher? Pat Riley style. What if the Clippers don't think they're going to be able to resign C Maggette?

Heat send Clippers D Wright, J Williams & 2008 1st pick
Heat send Sonics M Doleac & 2010 1st pick
Sonics send Heat L Ridnour
Clippers send Heat C Maggette & A Williams

The Heat would have S O'Neal, D Wade, L Ridnour, C Maggette & A Walker starting with S Parker, A Mourning, W Simien, U Haslem, A Williams & D Cook coming off the bench. That team zooms to the top of the East contenders list.

Clippers get a 2008 #1 pick, granted it be a latter pick, plus D Wright who's an up and comer. J Williams bridges until S Livingston (hopefully) returns. Not a bad return if they figured to lose C Maggette after the season. Ya, I hear the Clippers said they intend to sign B Knight. Haven't seen anything official yet. If I'm Riley I'm trying to make this happen.

Seattle gets an expiring contract and Miami's future #1, which may be ok by 2010. Perhaps Miami insists it be top 3 protected.

The Heat need Walker and Williams to be consistent... Once they find that third scorer, they're pretty good on returning their playoff hopes...
