Q: Can you believe Pat Riley called out Shaq, telling him he should give back half his salary if he's only going to play hard in half the games? Most coaches aren't that candor in speaking about their star ...

HELLO PEOPLE THIS IS NOT A ONE OR TWO MAN TEAM. THERE ARE 13 OTHER GUYS ON THIS TEAM TO STEP UP THERE GAME AND PLAY. THE PROBLEM IS EVERYBODY IS WAITING ON SHAQ AND D-WADE TO SCORE AND THIS TEAM SHOULD NOT BE JUST BASED ON THEM TWO. NOW EVERYBODY THAT LOOKS AT THE OTHER TEAMS THAT ARE PLAYING THEY HAVE ALOT OF GUYS THAT ARE STARTERS WHO CAN SHOOT THE BALL FROM ALL AREA ON THE FLOOR MIAMI DO NOT HAVE THAT FROM J-WILLIAMS, A-WALKER,E-JONES,G-PAYTON. LETS NOT BLAME SHAQ HE IS ONLY THE MAN IN THE CENTER AND WHEN THEY ARE DOUBLE AND TRIPLE HIM AND HE'S KICKING THE BALL BACK OUT TO HIS TEAMMATES THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO KNOCK DOWN THE BASKET BUT LOOK AT RHW TRUTH WE DON'T HAVE THAT AT ALL. WE NEED YOUNG GUY THAT CAN RUN THE FLOOR AND PLAY GOOD DEFENSE AND OFENSE ON BOTH END OF THE FLOOR. WE NEED A TEAM BUILD LIKE THE MARVERICKS,SPURS,SUNS OF THE BULLS TO EVEN COMPETE NEXT YEAR FOR ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP RING. SO PAT NEEDS TO REALLY LOOK AT HIS OPTIONS FOR NEXT YEAR. BUILD A TEAM AROUND SHAQ AND D-WADE WITH GOOD AND YOUNG PLAYERS WHO CAN HIT THE BASKETS AND HIT FREE THROWS AT 80% OR BETTER. SO GOOD LUCK HEAT FOR NEXT YEAR.

Why should anyone take seriously the drivel spouted by a shill or incompentent like IW-recall this was the fool who said the Heat would beat Chicago in 6 games despite zero evidence from their performance season-long to justify the "prediction." If he truly bought the Koolaid from Shaq and his lackey Wade that they could just turn it on again come playoff time he (IW) is frighteningly naive. On the other hand, if he honestly thought this nonsense, as anyone with a mind would upon even minimal reflection, yet regurgitated the company (read players like Shaq-the lazy-without pride ones) line he was being disingenuous with his readers. In either case, he has lost all right to be taken seriously as a so-called NBA analyst. In reality, the Heat has no hope unless D-Wright and Wayne-S get significant playing time, and a competent and healthy guard is snagged from somewhere-Wade is lost as an effective force until at least January, 2008, and the Big-Lazy will continue to deteriorate-Father time waits for no one. Enjoy the memories, that's all this team will give for a while. Retire now, Pat, before you have to deactivate you know who for the season rather then waste $20,000,000.

Pat Riley's comment will never motivate Shaq to play, if anything he will get even more upset it is not about him anymore it is all about Dwayne Wade. The lakers got the best years that Shaq now he is too old angry. and per

Pat needs to take the responsibility for this lousy season. He stuck with these old guys add did nothing to upgrade the team. He had a chance to get Alan Iverson and basically passed. I thought he would have been a great addition to the team with his scoring. Now we are left with a team who is top and bottom heavy; too old or too inexperienced players. Loyalty is ok but I think it cost the Heat a shot at another title and will limit what this team can do going forward.

Any chance the Heat go after Gerald Wallace this off season? He can do a little bit of everythign and would look great with Wade after Shaq retires?

This just in:
Our fearless leader Vice President Dick "Smirk" Cheney (such great man) and Miami Heat Coach Pat Riley have convened for an emergency session and they both have studied the situation of Bulls vs Heat in the playoffs and declared the following:

THE INSURGENT CHICAGO BULLS ARE ON THEIR LAST THROES, IF YOU WILL, YOU KNOW, THEY ARE DEFINITELY ON THEIR LAST THROES. And with the latest surge of STEALTH FREE THROWS by SHAQUILLE O'NEAL the situation is improving for the Miami Heat.

THIS JUST IN:

NBA Hall of Famer Rick Barry was arrested by Miami undercover policeman trainee Shaquille O'Neal for carrying a hand made sign in South Beach that read:

"Will teach free throws for any amount of cash to any 'Huge Black Guys Who are Often Overweight and Often Injured and Waste Time Trying to Be Undercover Policemen Instead of Learning How To Shoot Free Throws."

It was reported that O'Neal handcuffed Barry and attempted to slide Barry in the back seat of the patrol car but missed badly and instead bounced Barry off the roof of the car, Barry's head bouncing like a brick.

Eyewitnesses to the incident said that the handcuffed Barry remarked: "there you go, nice try, you are in typical playoff form."

Barry, who has been lobbying for years to teach O'Neal how to shoot free throws said of his arrest and impending trial for vagrancy: "if the free throws are bricks, you must acquit."

(if the Big Fat Baby gave 100 percent and learned how to shoot free throws I would have a ring and still be coaching)

Easy fix---draft Brandon Rush in round one; trade someone for a round two pick and draft Taurean Green. Rush is an athletic periment player who can defend, drive and shoot the 3. Green is a point guard who is a proven winner in high pressure situations who can defend, distribute and shoot the 3.

As I said, easy fix.

So with Dallas being unceremoniously dumped out of the Play-Offs...how important is it to have a franchise record breaking regular season. Wade was hobbled....end of season, period....when he plays at his true level the others rise with him, had he been fit the Heat could and would have gone deep into the post season...your thoughts Ira?

Everyone saw how "damaging" our boards were this season, Free throw shooting, and injuries. How big are the chances of Heat actually filling in those gaps maybe by trading for a KG or maybe more aggresive players like Dirk?

Even though the Heat lost in the first round of this year's playoffs, one thing that made me smile is the Mavs gettin beat by the Warriors. At least I can say that the Mavs lost to us last year and that they lost again this year, so all of you Dallas' fans that were talking shit all year long, now ALL OF YOU CAN SHUT UP!!! It's funny how people thought they were one of the best teams in all-time and that they were a sure lock team to be on this year's Finals because they won 17 consecutive games 3 times, but the thing is, they shoul'dve saved one of those streaks for the playoffs, because what you do in the regular seaason doesn't mean spit in the playoffs.
