Seeing moves like that by the front office and Riley should make it clear to young players that this franchise under Riley is not a place where they can come and develop their game. Riley has gone off the deep end in taking time and space in the roster with so many old guys while other teams spend their resources in trying to find a young diamond in the rough somewhere. If you take Wade out, this team has never developed a young player and it can be said that Wade developed himself and it was all a matter of luck and coincidence and also the fact that Van Gundy was coaching when Wade began his career.

This town's sports franchises are quite an example of Bush League ... and they accuse the fans for being bush league.

WHY ARE THE HEAT SO CONCERNED WITH CAP SPACE PUT OUT A GOOD PRODUCT.MAKE MONEY IN THE PLAY OFFS. The Penny signing is worth just that, a penny. There's very little risk, but the reward can be meaningful. Same goes for Smush. Folks need to chill. There are 3 ways of making big moves; draft, free agency, and trade. Miami had no lottery pick, or enough cap money for big moves. Their trade assets may yield an upgrade, but that might happen after teams open camp and assess their rosters. The opening day roster will tell if the offseason was managed well.

I like the BOUNCY reference. So add more bouncy dancers and fewer geriatric players that are "shagging" the organization and the fans, and I mean shagging as in Austin Powers kind of shagging.

Last time I saw Hardaway he was featured in the Golf Channel as a famous person having his clubs fitted to him, for him, as he was planning to spend lots of time on the golf course. That gives me a lot of confidence on this move with Sheriff Shaq not only involved in his undercover dreams and also starting a drama reality program for overweight kids. But Shaq says nothing about improving the problem that costs games and makes him exit many games t the end. FREE THROWJ

ONE OF THESE DAYS, before Riley turns 0ctogenarian, he is going to learn to trust and develop young players and even some foreign players like other teams do rather than fill up the town with more senior citizens... We already have a lot of the

Signing Penny doesn't prove Riley will go geriatric once again. In years past he never would've signed young Smush to back-up or compete for starter minutes. Drafting Cook, not re-signing Posey or Eddie, and not trading away this or next year's #1 picks are "youthful" signs. He's talked youth before and reneged. But maybe Riley will consider Dorell's 3 years on the bench sufficient dues payment. Even Riley can't ignore how the young Bulls embarrased his old cows last year. The moves so far are good, and the non-moves are even better. If Miami gets Magette, or to a lesser extent Pietrus, they'll be competitive. Otherwise either Wright, Richardson, or both will have to raise their games to new levels.

Penny will make a great addition to the second unit. Even though he was a punk he seems to have grown up.

Glad they caught the guys that robbed Walker and Curry.
I am sure they won't leave some poor girl to testify in the case and lie like Paul Pierce did that he never saw anything.

I AGREE 100% WITH YOU ON THIS ONE. THAT FRONT OFFICE IS TOTAL OUT OF WACK. THERE IS NO WAY MIAMI WILL WIN ANOTHER TITLE WITH THIS TEAM. THIS IS JUST TERRIBLE.

I know championship teams. Championship teams were friends of mine. This Heat team is no championship team, Mr. C-Bird. They won 1 championship over a year ago.

Pat is in a pout because Arison won't let him waste big $$ on washed-up has-beens because Pat can't coach young players so Pat preens in front of his mirror and ignores his responsibilities to this team and this city. But what do you expect from a guy who created a disaster and then walked away 8 days before the start of the season, then stabbed his loyal assistant in the back and took the team back when his assistant had righted the sinking ship?

D-Wade was drafted by Randy Pfund against Pat's wishes (Pat wanted T.J. Ford instead) and was developed by Stan Van Gundy and Eric Spoelstra while Pat hid in his office.

Pat Riley is an egomaniac whose time has come and gone, and I wish Pat would go somewhere, anywhere but JUST GO!

What a freakin waste of space, He was useless in New York, give the opportunity and experiance to a rookie. after being out of teh NBA for two years and at 36, this is a pointless aquisition. Riley is living in the past, mainly the 90's. I would rather have Time Hardaway than Panny Hardaway.
