Timberwolves' latest beating comes with a lesson from the Chicago Bulls

Full story: TwinCities.com

The way the Chicago Bulls were playing Wednesday night at Target Center, it was probably best for the Timberwolves to just sit back and take notes.

Everyone will have his or her own opinion of the cause, but the simple fact is that this Timberwolves team did not make satisfactory progress this year. Something is not only wrong, it's rotten. Change is needed. The question is, "where?" My vote would be to start with the coach.

I have a better idea. Sell the team or let it contract. Why would anyone spend one dollar to see this horrific product.

Change is needed..........for the last 20 years this has been the case. This franchise is a disgrace, is laughable, an embarassment, flat out disgusting. The fact the attendance was more than 19 thousand only proves how many folks from Chicago were in town last night to pick up their free welfare checks and WIC vouchers. I promise you that today they are all on their way back home laughing all the way.....

How can a team that loses OVER 90% of its games still be in existence?
Keep dreaming kool-aid drinkers. Stop the "wait until next year " crap.
What makes you think the off season will do anything improvement wise?
It won't.
If you're a player, you're a loser.
If you're a fan, you're a loser.
Nuff said.

Per the quote "Though the season is spiraling into another miserable end, the education has been valuable. "..

I guess at least it was a "Learning experience!".

The headline for this story would seem to indicate that a lesson was given, but correct me if I'm wrong on this? Dosen't the presence of intent to learn from the team receiving the lesson have to be a factor in whether or not a lesson is observed. Call it what it is, "another butt whopping for a wolves team that has a better chance of learning how to whoop some butt from a one legged man." The Wolves are incapable of learning and demonstrating any form of professionalism. By all accounts this team and or franchise started mailing it in the day KG was shipped out of town. The only way this team ever becomes remotely relevant again is if they magically land the #1 pick in a draft that features a Labron esque type player. Bare in mind though the relevance would only last for the term of said players rookie contract, because said player would be taking said talents to the nearest large market relevant team!!

you will never see Rubio wear a Wolves jersey. He will refuse to play for this group of losers and they will be forced to trade him , wait and see........now be a good boy and pass the peanut butter and cheese whiz.........

What Chicago has and the wolves lack is team play, the wolves have length and talent but they only occasionaly play together as a team when they do they win. But playing as team requires three things the players, the coaches, and the GM to be on the same page. Sadly, when a GM shows he doesn't care about team play, by giving away a TEAM player like Brewer, it doesn't send a very good message to the rest of the team. (I'm glad they got Randolph, but I think they could have done so with out getting rid of their best team player.) I so tired of the commercials, more length, more athletism, more moves. That is all hype and nothing more. The most important thing IS working together as a TEAM. Good Teams produce better results just look at (Bulls, Spurs, Twins, Butler, VCU). And Teamwork takes time to develop together, in other words more moves isn't necessarily a good thing.

From 1998-2004, the Wolves made the playoffs. They didn't get passed the 1st round until 2004, but they did make it to the West finals. There have been worse franchises. And people go to the games because they like the game of basketball. I'm a season ticket holder, but just by selling my tickets to the Heat, Lakers, Boston and Chicago games, I made my money back and then some.

I don't know why you Wolves haters take time out of your day just to rip them. But most of you don't even do your research. At least state facts when you rip a team.

Brewer the best team player?? I don't know about that. He didn't pass or handle the ball well when he was here, and was clueless about how to play in Rambis' offense. I agree the team needs to play better as a team, but that will hopefully come with time and better players. I think Rubio will come over. And from the few games I've seen him play, he really gets the ball moving. The draft doesn't look too strong as far as elite talent, but a good player could be used to trade or upgrade a position.

Is everybody as tired of taking the beatings on the forums as I am when Minnesota teams lose? Personally I want each pro franchise in Minnesota to change their name to "OFF" that way every day you would see headlines in the paper like "LIONS BEAT OFF or BULLS BEAT OFF or even YANKEES WIN SERIES BY BEATING OFF. At last we would have a chuckle

Good transactions! Maybe you should be running the Wolves. With any luck you could send Flynn to the Clippers and recover that first that is due them next year. This team has packed their bags and is ready to leave town for the summer. The performance last night was awful. No ball movement on offense, no foot movement on defense. The offensive philosophy seemed to be "shoot when in range", the defensive philosophy "why bother?". As I said two weeks ago, this team will not win another game this season, except possibly against equally pathetic NJ.

There are numerous players that probably should not be on this team next year, provided Kahn can find some way to dispose of them other than simply eating their contracts. Darko for one, Flynn for another, Webster for a third. Other players are worth keeping but need to step up their play. Beasley needs to become a team player on offense and start taking pride in defense, otherwise he needs to be traded as they will never win with him playing the way that he is playing. He got absolutely killed by Luol Deng time and time again last night. Johnson needs to start taking the ball all the way to the hole and start creating contact, instead of jacking up 24 footers all night.

I would like to see a lineup of Love, Randolph, Beasley, Ridnour, and Ellington start the rest of the season. Rambis needs to find out what positions Randolph can play, other than PF. If Randolph has enough quickness to play SF then I think he should get some burn there as well. Prior to the draft, Kahn needs to get a yes or no from Rubio. If Rubio isn't coming next year, then the wolves have to find a starting PG. This waiting for Rubio is ridiculous. If Rubio is coming, then the focus becomes finding a starting C, SG, or SF in the draft.

Kahn got into Beasley's private stash if he thinks this team will contend for a playoff spot next year. The only way that happens is if the wolves somehow get a transformational player in either the draft, FA, or via trade, and I doubt any of the three happens.

This team may have more talent than last year, and has been much more watchable, at least up until recently. But increased talent has not translated into increased wins. A functional PG and a non-apathetic C would be a good start.

See, I knew the two of you could get along. The "OFF" could be the baseball team, the "MEAT" the basketball team. Maybe the University could change their basketball team to the "WIVES".

Let's all sing Kumbaya now.

Well, see, here's the deal. "Just another day" guy frustrates me because he is obviously intelligent and literate. So why waste your time throwing spitballs when you could be contributing something?

I'm happy to sing Kumbaya. What I want in exchange is that "Just another day" raise the level of his discourse to help pull the "comments" section out of the swamp of illiteracy, racism, and juvenile hard-ons that it has unfortunately become.

I doubt that is going to happen. We know he has the ability. Does he have the will? Maybe he is the Darko Milicic of internet posting, teasing with ability, but fumbling opportunity after opportunity, all the while looking apathetic?

Changing subjects, the wolves have folded their tents on this season. The last competitive game they played was about two weeks ago. I will probably watch the rest of the games just because I like basketball. However, I don't know if I can take another season like the last few. Every year this mess drags on the wolves lose more and more fans.
