Magic sweep season series with Wizards

Full story: Orlando Sentinel

Whenever you play a team that is struggling the way the Washington Wizards were when they came into Friday's matchup with Orlando Friday, there is a tendency for the team doing better to play down a level.

This was a good win simply because we got the win. It would have been nice to blow these guys out of the building but a win is a win.

I was a little disappointed with the defense tonight. 20 points from Nick Young ? Ouch! This guy only averages 10 a game for the season. Once again another shooting guard goes off for a big night.

The defense needs to be consistent. But like I said, atleast the Magic won tonight.

Ohh I know...it was a Tony Battie day today....He stole Gortat's minutes....
So Gortat battles Boozer on Sunday....
I get it....
The playoff experiment continues.....and once again, Battie did not dissapoint.

I like the attitude JIM,
It could have been a lost just as easily.
It was one of those ""why battle so hard"" kinda game....
But they stuck in there and pulled it off.
At least HOWARD got angry again....that was the best part of the night...!!!

Two things:

1) Nick Young looked like Kobe Bryant out there as the Magic let that joke called the Wizards stay in the game for that long. Jamison always seems to have good games against us though. I saw that the Magic jacked up 34 3's and only 12 of them fell in. Did the Magic just want to treat this as a warm-up game before they play Utah and Cleveland? Who knows. At least they did enough to win this one.

2) The Magic got another solid scoring input from the bench as Battie scored 13 from 6 of 8 shooting and Redick got 10 points. Howard almost got a triple-double with a career high 7 assists. Even Alston contributed 18 points on 6 of 11 shooting. Now time to get some rest and prepare for Utah and Cleveland.

Detroit beat a very good Toronto Raptors team tonight. Toronto is loaded with All Star quality players. It was a well earned win for Detroit.

You can give it a break Toronto does not have all-star quality players besides Bosh, and Detroit is not going far in the playoffs so you can calm down. Detroit does not have the same chemistry as they did with Chauncey Billups and Iverson is too much of a one man show for Detroit to win games. The Orlando Magic are in the top 5 teams in the NBA and look for them to make a huge run in the playoffs.

i love it! Howard is getting better and better. Once he gets his passing game down like tonight, we will be unstoppable. Pietrus showed us what he can do when he has his mind into the game. It seems like at home games he is tryin too hard to win fan support instead of playing. We will need him and Battie to be huge if we are going far in the playoffs.

The defense needs to be better Jon. Giving up 103 points to a Wizards team playing without Butler for 1 half is simply not gonna get it done.

I agree! Our bench is starting to come around as well (JJ, Gortat, AJ, Battie, and will include either Pietrus or CLee when Turk returns) and this will be BIG come playoff time!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Aries

Christmas Eve finds you happy and eager to get the most out of the day. You're in a rather sentimental mood, so if you've got time you'll relish the chance to watch a favourite film, especially if it means you've got to get out the hankies. A friend's kindness or sensitivity will delight you - and make you wonder how you can reciprocate.
