The best players on this team are clearly Thomas and Rose. Lets get them the PT they need and get out of their way.

So trade the injured guards, or something.
Is it true Thomas is the best?Is Nocioni past his peak or injured or what? Is Noah a show-er this year? Will he show up and produce some numbers meaningful of a 1st pick? Is Deng worthy of his 2500 year contract of 80M dollars? Lots of questions? Elton Brand joining Philly for the same bucks gives them a shot at a division title Sam Smith is saying. Long, long ago we had EB traded him for TC and traded him for ....(no longer with the organization). This is a franchise with deep pockets.

To be fair, Hughes was shooting well last night. Having suffered multiple shoulder separations myself, I can feel his pain.

I would rather see Sefalosha in the backcourt with Rose anyway. The Bulls aren't going to win it all this year anyway so develop for the future. Sefalosha plays defense and this would allow Hinrich to play point behind Rose.

Are u serious? Who will be the backup PG? Hinrich should be the 12th man on this team. Who starts 2 points guards in the NBA and wins? No one.

Hughes is the second best guard on the team, no if's, and's or but's about it, regardless of what his detractors say. He's got athleticism, speed, hops, and periodically, a shot. He is willing to sacrifice his body and take it to the hoop; others won't. This injury hurts the prospects of a good start, undermines bench strength, and places a greater onus on so many others on the team who haven't shown as yet .... yes especially guys like Noah. This guy is still looking lost out there on the court. And, Deng, the most highly paid, inconsistent, part-time role player in the NBA.

Kirk is not going to excel playing with Rose so the Bulls are in a bind. Tabo gives you the defense and size but can't shoot. Gordon can shoot but can't defend. Hinrich isn't consistent enough at either one. To all the Hinrich fans out there, Derrick Rose is what a true combo guars is. A guy that is so good at being a point guard and a 2-guard, that the Bulls can use him both ways. Hinrich isn't a combo guard, he's just a guy that isn't great at one particular thing. And don't give me the "he's a great defender" crap. Great Defenders don't make dumb and untimely fouls and Hinrich does. Hinrich is your only other true ball handler and probably should come off the bench with the second unit but I don't think Del Negro has the courage to upset Pax by benching his teacher's pet.

Please everybody, can we tamp down the gushing adulation for Rose. I agree the guy has talent, plays hard, and has lots of potential. But he has yet to play a single regular season NBA game. Come on.

Stacy King is driving me nuts. Rose this, Rose that, give Rose the keys to the team... the last time I checked, basketball was a team sport. Doesn't Stacy realize it takes four other guys? Let's be fair to Rose. He'll have some great nights this coming season. But there will also be nights when he's double and triple-teamed and will accomplish little. All this gushing praise for him is bound to turn some of the players/fans against him. None of us want that. And I bet he doesn't either. He sounds like the kind of guy that wants the TEAM to win. Let's support the guy, but rein it in a bit.

Today's players are babies-Gooden can't play, Hughes bumps himself and gets an "owie" what a bunch of wimps. I am sick of pro-basketball!

Move Deng to the 2 spot, he just wants to shoot outside anyway. Move Noch into the Small Forward and hope he doesnt kill u with his shooting. Move Tyrus to 4 and gooden to 5. Gooden at the 5 better than the crap they have in Gray and Noah. Roate the week minded Thabo Switz player in the 2-3 spot. Keep Gordon, Hinrich on the pine.

Tom, I understand what you're saying but I think that Bulls fans are just excited to finally see a special talent in town after all of these years. But also I don't think people are overreacting, think about it. Rose has only played in what 6 or 7 preseason games and you can actually see improvement in his game over that time. Also i think what has us excited is that Rose was first being compared to Darren Williams or Chris Paul, but there have been flashes in his game that look different than that. I don't want to make comparisons and I can almost feel Stacey King trying to bite his tongue when Rose does something special, but there are moment when the guy makes a move to the basket that reminds me of Wade or Kobe. Some of the moves that he makes around the paint are not "point guard" moves. I know that sounds over the top but I can't be the only one that has noticed this. By the way, the kid is 19, was in high school a year and a half ago and hasn't finished growing yet!

I appreciate your excitment, but like the other guy said, lets calm down. this is preseason, with the top players like kobe, redd, davis just coasting. Let's see how he does when the real games start, an he has to guard barron davis or someone of that talent. I'm not sold on Rose, but hope he does well. In fact, he reminds me of the hype when marbury came out of college. Time will tell.

Agreed. At least it gives us something to watch this year.

I'm with you on this. I saw a crossover move and a penetrate the other night that I've never seen anyone on the Bulls do since MJ.
Now, all they have to do is find 4 other guys who can play with him.
I like Aaron Gray's improvement as a backup center.
I feel Hughes' pain- but he is not a worthy starter, either. You have to show up 82 games, not when you feel motivated. The same for Gooden.
Noah seems to understand that he is going to succeed on hustle, not talent.
Gordon is a bad apple and have to find a way to get him to agree to a trade that doesn't bring a lesser player in return.
Other than that- this will be like MJ's first year- 25 to 30 wins but developing the seeds.
