How about this stat line: 23 points, 8 Assists/one TO, 3-5 3 pt FG's, 3 steals - Derrick Rose. The first Bulls Rookie to score in double figures in each of his first ten games since.. Michael Jordan - Derrick Rose. Like Jordan, dominating quarters to lift his team to victories including 14 points 3rd quarter against Dallas and 12 points 3rd against Indiana. A superstar in the making Chicago, Mr. Derrick Rose.

I think we should officially start calling D Rose by his new nickname. You heard it here first "D R" after another all time great player " M J".

He doesn't need a fancy nickname--"D R" will do. DR is so smooth, so fundamentally sound, so right for Chicago. DR rocks! Sky is the limit for this kid! Go Bulls! The Bulls nation is excited again! Yeah!

I hope ya'll noticed the defense Larry Hughes played in the fourth quarter. He looked like the pre-Cleveland Larry Hughes. Granted his shot was off but he shut down Granger and anyone else he was on. Plus he rebounded. He made the 3 guard rotation work.

Wow, i love watching Derrick Rose play. We finally have a superstar again. Its amazing watching how much better he is than everyone else on the court. He is our franchise and we have to build around him.

I agree with CalChiFan, Larry Hughes got it done defensively. He looked like what Thabo was supposed to be, except Larry can actually penetrate, shoot, and score. I know he's had a poor shooting FG%, but I like his attitude with the chip on his shoulder as he was considered the odd man out with the so called "emergence" of Thabo, which did not take place despite his early season starts. To me the biggest difference is, Thabo can not handle the ball, and Larry can. I'm really not sure if Sefelosha will be able to overcome his fears on the basketball court because of his vulnerability handling the ball. Derrick, Gordon, and Hughes doesn't look like a bad backcourt for the Bulls right now. Too bad Noah and Thomas have no offensive game as we are dieing for offfensive Bigs who can score, and Paxson didn't deliver. Spencer Hawes or Thaddeus Young would be loooking pretty good right now. None the less, let's go Bulls. Maybe Tyrus and Joakim can become little Rodman one and two.

As soon as Kirk comes off the injured list he is on the trade block. No one can afford to keep a $9 million backup point guard. Lindsey Hunter is an ideal backup guard with all those years of experience. Derrick Rose has cemented his point guard job only 10 games into the season and NO ONE is going to take it from him.

hey mel, hows about trading capt kirk now! even if rose got hurt, hinrich is not an insurance policy. he sucks. and paxson should be held accoutable for perpetrating this fraud. no way can you think that hinrich, as a player, is what the bulls are trying to do as a team. in what way! nobody can play serious basketball with him. therefore all of the losing. watch how well they play on this west coast trip. it'll be totally differnt from when he had the controls by way of paxson. go bulls!!!

Sucks? He's clearly and obviously the best perimeter defender on the team. It seems like you don't think defense is important in the NBA. But, remember that in the double-threepeat era, that team was the best defensive team in the league.

Well, well, well. Who'd have thunk it.
So D. Rose really IS the man we need, and the great Beasely is not. I'm also happy to eat my words and opinions if what everyone is reporting becomes the norm for this season and beyond.
And someone even writing that he makes Gordon unstoppable! That's what I call a game changer.
And even a blogger thanking John Paxson for the presence of mind to choose D.Rose!(Let him or others close to him choose his own knickname, thank you)
Chicago Bulls haven't been this giddy with a 5-5 start since ....well before the Pink Floyd era.
Let's see if they can improve on that 5-68 West Coast schedule since 1998.

I hope the fans, and Bull's management is seeing what is already known to puriest fans: Kirk Hinrinch is not missed, and not needed. Kirk only provides(what the management) feels is fan support/favorite. Paxson is Kirk's favorite fan. The Bulls have to many shooters and not enough basketballs. And, the Bulls need to trade Thabo if they are not going to play him because he is to good to sit on their bench. The Bulls organization have messed up Thabo up to this point.

If the organization had sense, and they don't the gaurds should be: Rose, Gordon, Thabo. Trade Hughes, get rid of Kirk

thabo doesn't fit in this org. when he has played, he hasn't done nothing. heinrich needs to go too. but mgmt likes him, so he stays. besides, mgmt knows more than any outsiders voicing opinions here.

Trade Hinrich? In case you haven't noticed there are only two players on this team who can play the point, and Hinrich is one of them. Unless you weant to wear out Rose forever in his first year we need to get Kirk back ASAP. The glut is at shooting guard where you have Thabo, Gordon and Hughes. One of the three needs to go, and to get anything in return it probably has to be Gordon.

As a transplanted Chicagoan living in Memphis, I got the chance to see a lot of Rose last year. I knew he was the real deal, and the right choice, but even I thought it would be after the halfway point before he could have this type of impact.

Good game, overall, but I do not see any presence in the center. I wished we had somebody like Indiana's center.

I was one of those who thought Beasley should have been the pick. Not because Beasley was better, but because he seemed to fill more of the holes that Pax dug into the lineup. Two of the things the Bulls needed most were a go-to scorer and someone who could score and/or draw fouls consistently in the paint. At Memphis, Rose never showed a go-to scorer's mentality. But I never forgot what coach Calipari said about Rose: "He can score 30 points a game if he wanted to, but he knows we're a better team when he passes the ball."

If that really is the case I'll happily and eagerly eat my words. But first, I have to see how he well he does against good defensive teams that effectively clog the lane. After only 10 games it's still too early for me to eat my words, but I'm smiling as I get my salt and pepper ready!
