Varejao debut may be Tuesday

WASHINGTON: Now it's time for the hugs. As expected, the Cavaliers quickly matched the three-year, $17.4 million offer sheet that forward Anderson Varejao signed with the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday. Full Story

AV will help an otherwise BAD Cavs team with LeBron out with his finger.

Thank you Charlotte Bobcats for forcing the Cavs hand and getting him signed.

The BIG loser in this holdout is the Cavs fans who expected great things after last year's finals appearance, and have a 9-11 record so far this season to show for Danny Ferry's poor management and Dan Gilbert's poor ownership.

the only reason they are 9-11 is because lebron is out along with all the other injuries (marshall, hughes and AV being gone) gilbert is a great owner. ferry is questionable. the season is early they will be ok.

If Gilbert is a great owner, why didn't he make Ferry sign a point guard in the off season? The sub prime mess has cost him his fortune, and now he's just another owner struggling to break even. As I said early on, if LeBron gets hurt and he did, the Cavs are toast, and they are.

Tuesday? Why so long? Get your a** on the court dude. I guess he isn't counting on being around when the Cavs rebuild over the summer.

The article clearly stated that the work visa process was the culprit in delaying his ability to join the team.

Now you know better than that - please don't let facts get in the way of a good argument!

Unfortunately, Andy has shown his true colors...and they aren't pretty. Is this the kind of teammate that LBJ wants? The refs were going into this year saying that they would crack down more on "flopping". Andy better be in shape and ready to play defense after acting like some high-priced talent that is unappreciated. I don't like him anymore.

I hate some idiots on here. Remove any superstar off of their teams for and stetch of time and see how they will do. Think the Lakers win without Kobe? Lets see how the Spurs do without Tim Duncan. How about no Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady for the Rockets. This team is easliy at the top of the east without all the injuries. When LB's back along with Larry Bruise and AV we'll improve. And though Larry is a girl IMO we still need that body to give the other contributors a blow.

Well, I think the Spurs won last night without Duncan AND Ginobili over the Mavs. With Lebron, the Cavs are probable the 4th best team in the East, behind Boston, Orlando, and Detroit. Without him, they're a lottery team.

With AV returning to the Cavs, I am no longer a fan of theirs. Why should I support a team which has players who don't want to be in Cleveland, and who are disrespectful to their teammates?

I like LeBron just fine. But until Cavs' management gets rid of the cancer that is AV, I'm just not into supporting them.

Ginobili had a career high 37 points last night but thats still impressive without duncan.
I don't know about you, but i expected mental setbacks like this after the HUGE letdown against the warriors last season.

Sorry, hdawg, but Ginobili played last night and LED the Spurs with 37 points. The Cavs do not have a Ginobili. Trade AV for him, straight up?

And by the way... Ginobili comes off the bench for the Spurs. Same as AV.

Ginibili is making $9M this season. For all of you who use the argument that anyone who comes off the bench is not worth the money AV was asking for... Ginobili must be one hugely overpaid SOB.

He averaged 5.7 points and 5.6 rebounds over his career. His contract shouldn't be worth more than a free uniform, shoes and an apartment in the flats. I'm sure we could signed some tall CBA player for less to give us the same totals minus a flop or two.

But Gino avgs. 14 points, 3.4 assist, and 3.9 rebounds for his career. And still can get over 30 points and he's past his prime.
Varejao averages 2 hair bounces and 1.2 flops per game. Big difference.

Hey dumbass...STFU. AV lost out big on this. The Bobcats did not "force" the Cavs to do anything. It was AV and his dumbass agent who was screwing himself. He could sit out and act like you (a dumbfuking idiot) and he'd STILL belong to the Cavs and each game he sits out, the less he's worth.
You're a fukking moron. You have no business experience or success whatsoever. That's why you've spent your life asking people their orders and telling them to pull up to the window. Dumbass.
Screwed himself? Varejao is getting close to $5.4 million for six months of work, took six months of vacation, and no exhibition games and all those practices necessary. Then next season he gets close to $6.4 million. In 18 months, he's completely unrestricted and free to live in any nicer city with an NBA franchise that wants to sign him. Combine these facts with the fantastic agent he hired, and he's living the dream. So how in the hell did he screw himself? Sorry, I don't it.
