Other than Cardinal's contract & Miller's hair band, I like the potential trade Chad Ford is reporting:

Cleveland Cavaliers
They're still desperately trying to upgrade the team. One league source told ESPN.com that they're making one last push to try to acquire Mike Miller and Kyle Lowry from the Grizzlies. They don't have much to offer, so to sweeten the pot they are willing to take back Brian Cardinal as part of a deal. Memphis has been trying to push him in a deal for a while, but haven't found any takers on the remaining $13 million left on his contract after this season.

The deal, as described to me by a player agent, would send Miller, Cardinal and Lowry to Cleveland for Ira Newble, Donyell Marshall, Shannon Brown, Cedric Simmons and Dwayne Jones along with cash and at least one first-round pick from Cleveland. If the Cavs can pull that off, it would be an immediate upgrade of their roster. But they face stiff competition for the services of Miller and Lowry from a number of teams.

RPB,

You just proved my point on why you should not be on this post. I do not care if you are from Pittsburgh or not . YOU LIVE THERE NOW so you cannot help it if you have been dunbed down being in that atmosphere. You are a victim of your enviroment.

Sure I was happy when when we signed Hughes because I expect my GM who makes millions to do his homework. I am not the GM but if you would clear your head of the Pittsburgh smog you would know that Hughes cannot play a full season and even when he does come back from an injury it takes even more time to get the chemistry.

Maybe I can put it in your language. If you go fishing in your row boat and the hook is broken no matter how much you paid for the hook you will not catch a fish. Hughes is the broken hook. You say you make more money in Pittsburgh but Mc Donalds pays the same everywhere. Come out to Phoenix and I will get you a job in my company. i get tax credits for hiring people like you .Please get off this post until you have moved away from Pittsburgh. Again you are ruining the Cavs fan reputation.

Is that from ESPN Insider? If so, thanks for posting. I still can't believe the arrogance of ESPN, charging people to read half of their articles.

I would love that deal though. I'd hate to have to give up the 1st-round pick, but the rest of the deal is great.

I proved your point Steve from Arizona? I believe you proved mine. Again, you failed come up with anything intelligent as a response. Besides, I asked you three questions in my last post, you only answered one, proving another of my points, because you and I both know your answers.

Continue to make your cute little comments about Pittsburgh, it's good material for me to use on a daily basis. As for your McDonalds, it's nice that an assistant manager takes such pride and calls it his company.

I for one will never wear any Cavs gear next time I am in Arizona because of the reputation that you have obviously created out there.

It's actually very funny that you attempt to question my intelligence when you are forced rip on my residence as a response to my initial counter arguement due to your own lack of intelligence and inability to debate a point. You follow?

Go Cavs!

as long as you have laboob on payroll, you can't afford anyone that wants $$ so give him his walking papers and bring a whole new team that knows how to pass around the ball and knows what to do with it.

The deal that Akron Al posted from ESPN sounds interesting. I see no problem with that trade except the money owed to Cardinal. Miller is signed for two more years at 8.5 a year, Lowry's contract expires after this year. Cardinal's contract isn't bad enough that it would handcuff the Cavs this summer, I just hope they wouldn't give up more than one 1st round pick.

It is the first trade I have seen rumored that makes sense and doesn't include a key component such as Gibson, Gooden, or AV. Time will tell.

It is from ESPN insider. Even though Cardinal's contract is ridiculous, he can at least play when healthy, is a hustle guy with a jump shot.

Yeah, he isn't that bad. Of course, that's what I said about Jiri Welsch before we got him. But still, Cardinal wouldn't see the floor much because in this deal we would still keep Gooden. Our starting lineup would be improved:

SF LeBronia
PF Gooden
C Z
PG Hughes
SG Miller

And our bench would be strengthened with Lowry.

G Gibson
G Lowry
G Pavlovic
F/C Varejao
F D. Brown

Going 10 players deep, that's not bad at all.

Do something Cheap A$$ Danny Ferry. Make some kind of trade to make the team better before the deadline. Sit on your hands and the Cavs will be sitting in the stand by the 2nd round of the playoffs.

let us not forget the triangle offense the bulls ran . in that system , having a traditional point guard was not needed . i fell that the cavs need an athletic scorer and creator more than they need a point guard , and a offensive sytem that creates space and movement to off-set the need of a traditional point guard . if you have lebron avg. more assist than most point guards in this league and he handles the ball more than most point guard in this league , that traditional point guard is not needed just like the bulls
Exactly. But some are too stupid to understand that. Others hate Lebron (like OMG who always calls him something else) and don't want to see him do more (being the point player distributing the ball, getting assists). And others just think we're missing out because all of these other teams are making trades. Most of those teams are trading away great potential in their future, for a big risk at some success now. Look at Phoenix, does anybody think that Shaq is really going to help them get over the hump and win a title? Has he even played yet? Will he be healthy for the playoffs?

Stand pat, get healthy. This team has been playing very well over the the last month (excluding last night). When Hughes continues to gain confidence, and decided to take it to the rim more often they will be comptetitive with every team in the NBA.

<quoted text>If your talking Snow, he can't shoot, he can't pass, he can't hit foul shots, he can't steal balls anymore, but he swings a wild towel on the bench at times. Cavs need a real point guard and Miller can be had for 1st round, Gooden, and Gibson which I would do to win a championship this season.
Nobody is talking about Eric Snow, the guy doesn't even play. We don't need a point guard, we have Lebron to create and distribute the ball. Or Larry Hughes can do most of it. The Bulls won several championships without a true point guard. Don't any of you understand that?

i think the cavs should try to get andre and mike miller because they are good players and lebron could use them both so it can be easier for him to score and to win cause them he dosent have to do everything all the time.
Great idea, while we're at it I would like Yao Ming, Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant. They too would make the Cavs better. But we have about as much chance of getting those gus as we do of making any trade now. We don't have tradable assets, which has been stated over and over in the stories and the posts on these boards.

"Triv says Ferry is history." If you believe anything that blowhard Mike Trivisano says you are out of your mind. That guy was a moron almost 20 years ago when he started out doing "sports" talk on one of the rock stations. Now he has a bigger audience, but is still just a big mouth fan with a microphone.

Dont want to make a trade just to make a trade. We are being reactionary. This is the same team that made it to the finals last year but now with a much deeper bench in Gibson, Varejo, Brown, Jones and Newble, who is getting more minutes. Unitl Pavs & Varejo went down the Cavs were on an 11-2 run. If we get everybody back and in sync before the playoffs we should go deep. We've knocked off the Mavericks, Lakers and the Spurs on their home court. We've beat the Celtics 2 of 3 times as well We even beat the Orlando Magic and thats not with everybody back. Not quite ready to throw in the towel yet and trade for another Uri Geller. If they are not any better than what we have lets stay put.
