Cavs steal win with dismal play

Full story: Akron Beacon Journal

CLEVELAND: Technically, there's no such thing as a bad win, especially the way the Cavaliers have played at times this season.

This starting lineup sounds like a championship...Lebron, Z, Gooden, Gibson...and Jason Kidd. Time to get rid of the dead weight.

Larry Hughes, 2-11 shooting. I know he’s an easy target, but how much longer must this go on? At least Brown had the wisdom to keep him off the court and play Devon Brown in the fourth quarter. Hey Ferry, you made a huge mistake signing this guy...be a man, own up to it, and correct the problem. The $60 million is gone no matter what happens, so trade him (if you can find another GM dumb enough to take him), bench him, or release him. Let Devon Brown start and give some minutes to Shannon or Damon off the bench.

mike brown can't coach , so you can put any fantasy lineup together and they still won't win a championship .

^^ Not Gooden! This guy's a journeyman and the reason why PF after PF, many of them stiffs (i.e. Josh Boone) continue to go off against us... Gooden's the most to blame for the soft D in the paint... Last night, Brad Miller, who's mainly a perimeter guy, posted up Drew and went to the hole all night with ease. That stiff Williams, a D-League guy who averaged less than a point a night, had 8 and pounded Drew and Z inside... Gooden's a loser. Let him go join the Amish so he can continue to grow his beard.

We're much better off with Andy at PF.

Pavlovic is a solid player and his offense will get better when he gets his legs under him.Drew Gooden is not a good defender but the COMBINATION of he and Anderson gives us great production both offensively and defensively in the PF spot. This season has been a rollercoaster ride so far but i see us heading in the right direction as long as we stay relatively healthy. Come playoof time we will be that 4-5 seed that the so-called experts will be saying NOBODY WANTS TO PLAY THESE GUYS.

Why? I think Windhust is usually on target with his observations and comments.
A win's a win but this was a game that should have seen Cavs benches playing most of the last quarter protecting a big lead at home against an outmanned team. Instead we have a squeaker against a team that had no right to be in the game to the end. Notice that Huges and Pav were on the bench most of the 4th and Boobie played hard (as always, did you see that save?) and well.
Cavs fans are waiting for Sacha and Hughes to improve substanitally or else. Pluto in the PD today advocates moving D Brown to the start and Sacha down to 4th on bench. I think we will see something dramatic by the end of January. Time's a-wasting!

It amazes me that we still don't have Andre Miller on this team. Or at least Earl Boykins. Or even Dale Davis.

I heard a rumor that had the Cavs and Bulls talking a Hughes/Gooden for Hinrich/Ben Wallace deal. I wouldn't want to lose Gooden, but Hinrich would solve our PG problems and Wallace would be a great compliment to Z inside.

Ferry, wake your lazy ass up and do something.

i just wanted to say that for all you people saying that lebron has no support from his team....well if u haven't heard....it was daniel gibson's three that guareented our win...u know the same three ball that lebron shot and missed, boobie made it and this is not the first time that daniel has been known to help lead the cavs...i.e the first game of the finals where boobie lead the cavs with 16......so you all can talk about sasha and larry (who are really bad) but don't forget that daniel is not just a one dimensional player where in this game he finshed with 13 pts, 5 assists and 2 steals (4 of 9 from the field, 3 of 7 from beyond the arc and 2 of 3 from free throws made) as well as knocking a ball away from a kings player to prevent a fastbreak opportunity and diving to prevent the ball from going out of bounds and back to the kings... he passed the ball right into the hands of lebron. almost every game daniel is seen diving for loose balls and scoring a good amount of pts (only 2 games this season is boobie held under 10 pts)(where as lebron had only 10 pts at the season opener blow out but yall don't talk about that) and when lebron was gone boobie came up with 24 which is usually lebron type numbers so yes the cavs need help but you cannot say that the whole back court sucks when daniel plays every games like its his last and i guarantee that buy the end of the season daniel will become a great point guard because after really only post-season last year and the beginning of this seasons' worth of games played in....boobie is averging 12.6 pts coming from averging barely over 5 points at the beginning of last season and that number will be way better by the end of the season
