Why sign a 6"5" guard/forward when they need a point guard and a shootibg guard? He doesn't fill either role well.
Cavs have shown no improvement in players since their 0-4 finals loss in June. The "wild thing" Varejao is still not signed as well.
Is the prime mortgage debacle and lack of money showing on Dan Gilbert's dedication to the Cavs? I think so.
The Celtics and Pistons have improved from last year. What about those Cavs?

So dumb. You do realize what the rules are about signing players in the NBA right? If you're over the cap, you can't sign anyone for more than the exceptions that are allowed you. Star players don't come to play for exception money.
Pavs and Andy aren't worth paying more fro than the Cavs are offering, so what is it that you propose they do within the structure the NBA sets up for free-agent acquisitions?
And given the above, how the hell does this have anything to do with Gilbert's company, since being "cheap" isn't the reason the Cavs aren't acquiring other star players?

I have officially come to the comclusion that you know nothing about the major sports in this country and just like to spout off your mouth EVERY DAY!!!
Is there something wrong with NOT changing a team that made it to the finals? Maybe the team needs one more year to play together? Maybe getting "Boobie" more playing time will benefit him in the playoffs next year.
Look at the Browns. Every year they add free agents for big money and they either get hurt (Bentley, Baxter, McGinest) or don't play up to their past performances (Baxter).
You are never happy with anything that goes on with these teams from Cleveland. Oh my god Borowski blew a couple saves, sell the team, don't buy any more tickets, move them to Florida!!!
Get a life. Get a clue. Get a one way ticket to Pittsburgh!!!!!

"Making it" to the Finals out of the NBA's Eastern Conference was the equivalent of "making it" to the Finals of a Sam Cassell lookalike contest. Are you actually that simple to believe that it meant anything other than being crowned certifiably butt-ugly? Evidently the rest of the world is somewhat more intelligent than the 75-mile radius of drooling dopes in and around the Cleveland area.

I think Brown will get Snow's minutes. Should improve the bench depth a little bit. Cavs are very limited in what they can do. Sasha and Andy really don't have any options and will have to take the qualifying offers. I was hoping for an improved rotation this year with Snow and Marshall moving to the end of the bench, and a couple more capable players taking their minutes.
Gibson (PG, SG)
Andy (PF, C)
Shannon Brown (SG)
Devin Brown (PG, SG, SF)
Damon Jones (PG, SG)
They need another big man

It's bad enough that Gibson isn't a point guard, but now another non-point guard taking Snow's point guard minutes? No, this will succeed in doing nothing but cutting into Pavlovic's minutes. I mean, it's just plain stupid.
And by the way, Devin Brown sucks. There's a reason he doesn't stick with anybody. The sole reason his stats went up was because everybody on the Hornets roster was on a training table instead of in a game, so they had to pluck this stiff off the waiver wire. Much like Devin Brown, even my 70-year-old mother could get some stats if she got some roster minutes. She's got quite an ass for rebounding, too. So watch out, Varejao, Ferry's got another shrewd signing up his sleeve.

Yes, there is something wrong when LeBron says so:
Q: What are your thoughts heading into the season? The team hasn't made any big moves.
A: I wish we could have made some moves to improve our team. As a competitor, you want to get better every year. I was hoping that we could add a few pieces, seeing all the other teams getting better.

PPav and the Wild thing are a real good fit for Clev, if they let them slip out of there reach they will regret it come this season,Both are really inproving now,We have not seen there best yet. Keep talking to them Cavs,Do not let them go.

you must be drunk and not just old in tallmadge...your deduction on gilbert's finances and willingness to spend is awful and sounds very crybaby--and i usually like your posts...i could careless if either of these ego riddled players in contract negotiations sign or not...and brown PLAYED POINT FOR THE HORNETS
varejao can't even make a six foot jumper when he needs to...his energetic play was appreciated, but his willingness to be fair in contract pay is not---baby, bye! bye! bye!
either one can be replaced in a flash and cheaper based at the level they perform at, which os one good game for every three so-so ones
they want to play in europe--let 'em
BROWN: 11.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists
Sasha Pavlovic & varejao can't do that day in day out together, let alone one of them
#12 Sep 28, 2007
C'mon guys, lets get this season started!!!
#13 Sep 28, 2007
Not the impact signing we're all looking for but let's face it: the cavs are strapped by a couple of hefty contracts and they still need to figure what to do w/ Andy and Sasha. Like Windhorst has been saying all off-season, just b/c the cavs haven't been active this summer doesn't mean their roster is set in stone for the entire year. Now, if the team is playing .500 ball at the trading deadline and does nothing, then you've got something to complain about. Til then, chill out.

Sign Pavs and Varejeo and get on with it. We do not anymore David Wesleys or Damon Jones type players. We have quite a few of less then medicore players. Lets develop these young guns. Pavs, if Larry Hughes ever decides to pass to him, can average a solid 18 points a game and Anderson can Flop and Rebound. Lets utilize what we have. Sometimes its more about "chemistry" in the NBA> than having 5 superstars.

I think this guy makes up his posts. Every post, on every topic, virtually every day is such utter nonsense, let's just call him extremely creative and laugh him off.

This has nothing to do with this article, but with the comments section.
Most of the comments on this thread are so poorly written that I feel embarrassed for the people posting them.
I'd like to believe that N.E. Ohio sports fans are knowledgeable, not only in their sports IQ but also in the way they express themselves. A very negative reflection of Ohioans indeed...
