LeBron dons hero's cape

TORONTO: In the waning seconds of victory, LeBron James bulldozed into a group of his waiting teammates, his face steely but his voice loud and excited as he repeated the same phrase over and over: ''Somebody ... Full Story

If I was LeBron, it would be getting old when I have to score 24 points in the 4th quarter to overcome an 13 point 3rd Quarter deficit all the time. When is Ferry going to get him some help?

Larry Hughes's 6 for 12 is an improvement, but only 14 points for $14 million doesn't cut it.

Ferry's not a coach. The third quarter problems are something that COACH Mike Brown still has to fix.

Not since Snow White and the Seven Dwarves has any group been so dependent on one person.
A few signs of hope, though:
--Defense has become far more energetic and effective
--Sacha getting well-deserved bench time. That's what having more fouls than points earns ya.
--Boobie! Boobie!
--Varajao has improved his game
--Damon Jones resurfaced and looked pretty good
January is a crucial month. The holdouts are behind. The team should gel. Players who are producing should be on the court, those who aren't (see Sacha, above) shouldn't. And if Ferry is going to make a move, do it now to give the new player a chance to work in.

Lebron is great. I'm not so sure he's better than Kobe though. He may be, just not yet.

I think Kevin Garnett & the 29-3 Boston Celtics might not agree with you this season. LeBron is among the top 5 players in the NBA, but until Ferry gets him some help, he never will be MVP or Number 1 because he can't do it all by himself.

AV is the heart of the Cavs defense. It's now showing as he has rounded into shape. Ferry blew the chance to be as good as Detroit when he didn't sign AV in the offseason. Now the Cavs will struggle to get to a 4 seed for the rest of the season. Ferry is a joke as GM. He is learning on the job at the Cavs expense. When will he sign a point guard that can play?

OMG may be right sort of, did i just write that?...but the heart of the defense is actually sitting on the bench...His name is Eric Snow....a shut down defender period.

No one has recognized how the defense got bad when he went to the bench..Im shocked that he is not playing when we need defensive stops!!

I saw the Hornets game down here..The Cleveland guards couldnt stop Chris Paul..That game should have been more of a blowout as the hornets missed many open shots.

This problem isnt fixable any time soon.. Hughes sucks! Damon Jones,ditto..and they cant play defense although hughes pretends to play defense.

So you have Gibson who may be a stud soon, sacha and snow!!

Sacha, no way he can defend the point..Now you are left with Snow and Gibson.

Defense is not rocket science!! Until the CAVS get someone to defend the point, they never will win a championship.

They couldnt even stop a french point-guard in the finals..I mean c'mon, he is french!!

Thats why the bibby trade/talk scares me..He cant play defense..he actually may be worse than hughes

The best bet would be an aging J-Kidd..dont know if he is worth it though, but he would be better than bibby!!

Remeber the jordan days? Pippen was ok on offense, but was a defensive stud, able to cover anyone. Ok he was better than ok on offense, but he was a defensive stud. Rodman, like AV...So the cavs need 1 more piece..a very elusive piece to become a champion.. a guard who can play defense
and score...

time to go..

Good analysis, BigEasy! The only thing I disagree with is Snow. He's a decent defender, but not shut-down. But then you have to go down to the other end of the floor, where E. Snow may be the single worst player in the NBA. And I really mean that. It is so painful watching that guy try to run the offense, and god forbid he pulls the trigger on a shot. U-G-L-Y!

[While I disapprove of the stick-out-your-tongue juvenile trash talking that surfaces on these boards all too often, it should be pointed out that you Mr. OMG never missed an opportunity to rag ceaselessly about the Steelers on what many felt were Browns discussions. In your face buys in your face. It's called karma.
So let's move on and hope that the Cavs improve. After the Buckeyes game that's what we've got to focus on, b/c the Indians aren't giving us a very interesting hot stove (and it's only a month until pitchers and catchers!).
