What's up with the word mired being used so much in sports headlines? The definition clearly doesn't fit a team who has lost 1 game in this series! And what's up with the apostrophe before the word? Apparently I do not understand the actual definition of this word.

It's supposedly short for "Stoudemired." The title is just trying to be cute.

basketball is like chess, you're always thinking several moves ahead. allowing one game to go is just strategy. phil works a variety of strategies during non crucial games to prepare for another one. wake up, lakers in 5; celts in 5, lakers in 5 over the old celts.

Like several posters have said this series is fixed, on paper the Suns should have already been swept by the Lakers. There is no way the Suns can hang with the Lakers. The NBA is trying to extend the series and make more money.

I do agree that there were a lot more calls on the Lakers than the Suns yesterday. BUT, 14 of the FTs were shot by the Suns from the 6 minute mark forward in the fourth quarter, when the Suns were already up 10.

You cant say the game is rigged when the Suns backups are in the game for 9 minutes in the 4th quarter, and start draining 3s.

Game five will be different I hope, all Lakers must come and be ready to play not just Gasol and Kobe.
They are pros and should know how to beat the zone by now, don't blamed the loss on Phil. Players must be able to execute.

If they are pros and should know how do beat a zone then they should know how to do all other aspects of the game thus not needing an over rated coach like phil jackson. Dude hasn't made any adjustments in the last two games. The coach is supposed to make adjustments... the players are to play those adjustments. The lakers have far better players but without the adjustments they look and are playing lost out there. Lets face it Gentry is making the needed adjustments and there players are benefiting, while the lakers are playing lost like there coach is...

The coach can call whatever he wants, it still boils down to the players executing.

Suns in six.
Celtics in five over the Suns. The only "old" looking team are those wearing the Lakers uniform.

I still favor the Lakers and Celts but they need to step it up. Bynum need to heal quick.
