maybe they can get boylan to come back because I don't think any legitimate coach will want to come here.

The foul-mouthed toad who used to be the general manager claimed 'organizations win championships'...so it doesn't really matter who the coach is.

I don't blame D'Antoni one for bit for not coming to coach my Bulls...who's going to run point for D'Antoni? Hinrich? LOL Actually, I think it's a blessing in disguise for Bulls fans...last year this Bulls team was downright horrific, horrible on defense and horrible when it came to shooting...the last thing the Bulls need is a coach who doesn't care if you play defense or not...and the last, very last, thing the Bulls need is another coach thinking Hinrich is a solid point guard who can run this team...LOL

I guess that we are suppose to believe these lies about Paxton not being given a chance to talk money. When in an interview it's not that difficult to get the tome of where the offer will be. Reinsdorf is the culprit. Pax is a puppet without any authority or imagination. John, stop looking for the new Jordan and another Phil, 'cus you wouldn't recognize them if they tripped over you. Join your brother in retirement from the front office.

Another example of the Bulls front office dragging their feet. Go figure. Maybe Benny the Bull can coach. He's got enough sideline experience.

Not once, but twice did the Bulls lose out on two qualified coaches. Forget Avery Johnson, he will sit back and collect his money from Dallas. This Bulls team is all about defense, and Thibodeau is Paxson's man. He will also be cheap in the eyes of Reinsdorf. This is Paxson's last stand with this team. Paxson needs an excellent draft pick, and a return to the playoffs, and go beyond the second round. Anything less than that will not be accepted by their fans. Time to move several key players (Ben & Kirk) before it is too late. Sometimes, an unknown coach can be a surprise to a team than a well known name coach. We once had a coach named Doug Collins who was replaced by a some guy named Phil. Then again, we had also a guy named MJ who helped out.

It's about time that John Paxson starts getting the blame for the mess that is the Bulls right now. If Jerry Krause was still GM, and this coaching disaster happened, he would have been burned at the stake. Pax has had five months to find a coach. He's obviously done nothing except sit back and watch the franchise crumble. And now the Bulls have to hire some inexperienced assistant or the guy (Avery Johnson) nobody wanted. Great job, Pax. I can't wait until the draft when Pax drafts another 6-6 shooting guard who can't play defense or some 6-9 power forward who can't score.

When does the Paxon experiment end? It's been, what, 5 years now? And what do we have to show for it? Right.... Chuck Swirsky. Bunch of mopes that call themselves a team, no coach, and Paxon still the G.M.. What's wrong with this picture?

Folks - hiring that coach with his 'high octane' offensive style wouldn't have made a bit of difference. The reality is we don't have the horses to run his system. We don't have a Steve Nash on our team last time I checked. D'Antoni realized that and opted to go elsewhere. That said, I think it's win/win for the Bulls. We aren't out the large $$'s it was going to take to bring him here and we won't get our false expectations dashed when his offense didn't work out with the players on the current roster.

Its what is going to happen. Stephen A Smith said that every person the bulls have spoken to about the coaching position has said the same thing. "The bulls are Indecisive." Big surprise Johnny Jumpshot can't pull the trigger...

He has to go his big plan is to Develop the roster??? Come on that is BS that is his plan because he has No Fing clue of what to do and is scarred to try. PLEASE STEP DOWN!!!

Even if you didn't want D'Antoni you have to admit that Paxson said he was our guy and then Whiffed on sealing the deal. If he was your guy why tell him you want to interview other people first? If he was your guy why did it take you over a week to even think about an offer? You have had 5 months to think about coaches so WTF is this stalling crap?

LEAVE!!!

Pax... missed out on Kobe, in my opinion we might've been able to get Garnett last year, have had 5 months to get a coach, decided to take Tyrus Thomas over Lamarcus Aldridge (when they desperately needed a low post scoring threat). To me this screams...PAXSON DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT HE'S DOING!! The team has no chemistry, no big man scoring threat, and they're defense retracted this season. They're a mixed bag of confused players, which don't have any identity or direction. This season, every game hinged on if they shot well or not. That's not a stable foundation. I think that Paxson needs to change his philosophy or get out.

this blows. When Ben Wallace came on the market Reins and Pax were ready at the midnight start to free agency. When three great talents (kobe, gasol, dantoni) are begging to come here, they overplay their hand three times. Guys, seize the day! Have a plan so you're ready when opportunity knocks. If you're going to act second rate, then cut ticket prices.

JPC, did you see any of the past two playoff series between the Bulls and Miami? The bulls ran very effectively then. Everyone is comparing Tyrus to Marion. You forget they lost the slow guys in the cleveland trade.

Lets face it...Jerry R doesn't care if the Bulls win. We're the 3rd largest market, second in the NBA in attendance and we have one of the crappiest teams in the league. This team can remain crappy losers for the next 4-5 years and still will do well in attendance. Our dynasty wasn't built! We lucked into it! We got Jordan because the teams that drafted in front of us were stupid enough not to take him. We got Phil Jackson because he was an assistant coach already here and he was cheap.
Since MJ and Phil we haven't had one all-star player drafted and the best we did by way of a free agent was Ben Wallace. PLEEEEEASE! Superstar free agents avoid the Bulls like the plague (Tim Duncan, Tracy McGrady, Kevin Garnett, Grant Hill, Pau Gasol, etc.) And what does this organization do when a true superstar (Kobe) actually admits that they would like to play for the Bulls? Jerry R. And John P lose the guts to pull the trigger to make it happen, just like the latest example of their lack of intestinal fortitude, Mike D'antoni stating that he would like to coach the Bulls. Jerry "Rising-dork" please do the loyal Chicago fans a favor and sell the team to someone that wants to bring a champion here. It's obvious that you don't.

The foul-mouthed toad to whom you refer was the GM for a team that won 6 championships in 8 years with an 83% turnover of personnel between year 1 and year 8. It helps when you remaining 17% are namned Jordan and paiien of course but that is STILL a remarkable accomplishment, even for a FMT. With the exception of Michael Jordan the FMT to whom you refer was responsible for bring EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THOSE 6 WINNING TEAMS - INCLUDING THE COACHES - TO CHICAGO.

Organizations DO win championships. Look at how long the New England Patriots have been at or near the top - 7 years and counting. Think they'll do better than the bears this year? As in duhhhhh

If Reinsdorf and Paxson had been in synch (aka a good organization) they might have been able to snag the guy. The way the team(s) Bears and Bulls are run is a prime example of POOR organization - when is the last time either team was taken seriously?
