People in the US don't know D'Antoni's history in Italy. All his teams were power defensive teams. They were as rough if not rougher than the Knicks of the 90s. He had 2 7 footers in Milan when they won those Euros championships. So Knick fans don't dispair- Mike is going to change the Knicks into winners and not whiners.

D'Antoni left Phoenix because Kerr wanted him to have his team play more defense and he refused to do so. Bottom line is that defense wins championships. D'Antoni has had a miserable record in the playoffs despite having loads of talent. I wonder how D'Antoni would have handled Bill Russell? Russell averaged only 15 points per game in his career, and even in his best year didn't break 19. But all he did was win 11 championships in 13 seasons.

you coach what you have. he had runners and gunners in Pheonix. Guaranteed if he has good players he will adapt his system to them. He's a good coach. No coach says, "I don't believe in defense." I like the hire.

It's a wait and see game; can D'Antoni adapt to the NBA game, he has gotten half right, now we'll see if he has the whole package. Labron will never play for the Knicks, so let the "dreamers" come up with something more realistic. I see the Knicks out of the playoffs two more years.

We'll give LeBron a few more years, wait until he is just about washed up, then give him a big fat contract so he can semi-retire at MSG like so many before him.

Lebron would fit in seemlessly to the seven seconds or less system... the cavs should of bought out mike brown (who is probably the stupidest person to ever be a coach in the nba... he really only knows two plays!) and tried to get danantoni. they have probably the best fast break player in the history of the game and they refuse to run. nearly everytime they pick up the tempo it results in a bucket. but i see lebron going to the brooklyn nets... jus so Jayz will rap about him
