Full story: Newsday 12
Stephon Marbury once refuted a LeBron James comment about his Starbury brand with a pointed "Better to own than be owned." The way things are going, that theory might be his only way back on the court as a ... Full Story

whatever. as long as he's riding the pine and keeping his mouth shut (at least not complaining and causing drama) and not on the court, as a fan I'm happy. one of the big turnoffs as a fan the last few years was watching these selfish deadbeats like Marbury and Curry display nothing but selfishness and lax work ethic yet still receive playing time all while dragging the Knicks down.

Now we finally have a coach and GM with the stones to sit these deadbeats despite their salaries and field a team that is playing some entertaining basketball. hopefully this will continue.

Nice. Save that STOLEN money from fans and buy yourself something nice, Steph. What a waste of talent he turned out to be.

Marbury couldn't even afford to buy a luxury box at MSG to watch Knick games, let alone the entire team. Jimmy Dolan wouldn't sell the Knicks for a billion $, unless the terms were great. Marbury is a huge spaccone- he should stick to owning low end apparel companies and maybe start a cereal brand or something.

It really put things in perspective by listing his semi-monthly paycheck. Most of us working stiffs would be very happy to wind up with that amount in an IRA retirement account, let alone getting two checks a month.

just when you think he couldn't say anything dumber, he opens his mouth. 5 years after basketball he will probably be broke.

What a great paper, great editing, top notch staff.
Here is one of the headlines today in the high school football section:

Longwood coasts past Patchogue-MefordBY COREY McLAUGHLIN |

Now of course, Meford changed their name to Medford 200 years ago, but nobody mentioned it to Corey!

Newsday is like a third world paper, or maybe worse.

Man, do I miss buying it!
