What did Pat do to inspire these players
anyway? It's either he didn't do a good
job as coach or the players are just
lousy. I guess we'll just go for both.

There was never a game Walker didn't give an effort. What a stupid thing to say. A complete fabrication

I agree with you and post below you(Walker did play hard). But what did Riley do to inspire these players this year??? Stop putting blame on the players. You are the coach, the Heat and the knicks are the only two teams who records do not define the talent of their squads.

And Ira needs to stop looking for a subliminal message to blame Shaq. Riley could never motivate these players. When Shaq first came to the heat every game was hyped, bench players were hype, water/towel boys were hyped, the stadium was hyped, everybody was hyped come game time. This year you didnt see the same body language with the players. You can't blame Shaq for all that, where were Riley??? How many games had the Heat had won but loss in the last minute because of bad defense or bad offensive decisions.

This year Riley was outcoached by everyone. Like Hubie Brown said today referring to Kobe when players are used to winning they will get disgruntled and upset with the system. And thats what happened with this team this year. All I can say is Riley just coached and win next year. No excuses!!!! Go Heat!!!!

I have been saying since last year and before, his system is old, and the league has caught up. He is the only coach that calls every offensive and defensive play.

He criticizes more than motivates his players, they have no freedom, no flexibility and he actually believes that they win because of him. Our injuries are cause by the constant demanding practices, the constant pressure to over play all 82 games and the constant micromanaging in the games.

How is it that we have so many injuries to so many players. He was the one that sent a mental message for wade to try and come back too early form surgery last year and still overloaded him with minutes.

He is a dinosaur that has failed to adjust, he need to accept his HOF and let some new blood come and and coach this team. I don't mean a clone of his (from the current staff) This is why I do not want im coaching any rookie next year, he does not give rookies any chance, he believes in vets, but the player he needs, DO NOT WANT TO PLAY FOR HIM ANYMORE.

I am glad Pat Riley came to miami when he did, he did some wonderful things for the city, but like everything else, his ego got bigger than the game. He thinks he's bigger than the game. He gets a pass because of his past. No one on this team can have an opinion but riley, he speaks in riddles. A friend of mine asked me the other day, could riley be a commentator or analyist, and I said NO - riley is the type of guy that if i's not his way, it's ny way. His methods are old, the way he rates his players are old, the way we provides medical treatment to players is old.

Wow some great posts. I guess the band wagon jumpers are long gone and the real fans are left.

Ira however is a liar and he makes stuff up to start trouble. He needs to be fired. He also needs to stop blaming Shaq and Walker.

"Somebody has to motivate other people to play hard. Players inspire players," he said. "When I had to have a major, major public brouhaha over conditioning, it just tells you how far it got away. Whether or not they agree with it or not, it's irrelevant."

These are the statements of a dictator one that needs to stay away from young fresh, minds. he will teach them nothing in todays bball culture and only get hem hurt trying to impress upon them his system.

it's his way or the highway - that's why today's nba players do not want to play here.
