No,no,no!!!
2-5 years isn't justice. Impaired on illegal drugs that caused a death. You get the death penalty. Period. That's justice.

Some people are so high strung on blaming pot for everything. Pot isn't a dangerous drug and Im sure it had NOTHING to do with the accident.

Hmmm, let's compare this to the young guy who killed that girl from New Oxford, he wants to be tried as a youth ...

Same thing .... Think about it !

He should spend a lot more time in State Prison. Killing someone while using drugs is really the same as shooting someone. I hate the Judge for this type of action. I hope our systems change back to old times an all idiots go to Hell.

Ive smoked pot for 30+ years. Never been in any kind of trouble, have 2 great and successful kids, and am leading a very WELL life. Umm, to "Gettysburg", maybe you should chill out and smoke a joint and relax a little.

I can't believe this is all he's going to get for killing my cousin. I think he should have gotten a lot more. I have to agree with Dan from Hanover totally, you kill someone then you should spend the rest of you life in jail. I know that wouldn't bring my cousin Dave back but atleast justice would be served for me and my whole family. Being under the influence of drugs is the same as being under the influence of alcohol. I just wish justice would have been served, maybe if it was the judges cousin who was killed the out come would have been different.

Im not saying this person should not be in jail for what he did, Im just saying that pot is not as bad a drug as everyone thinks. And no, if one of my kids(god forbid) got killed in an accident involving someone soming pot, I would NOT blame it on the pot. Alcohol is alot more deadly than pot, statistics proves that.

Alcohol is more deadly than pot? Can you show me one study to offer as empirical evidence what you are supporting? I would say not. You have some flawed logic. That is like saying that guns are more deadly than nuclear bombs because guns have killed more people. It is a matter of access. Currently, alcohol is LEGAL and marijuana is not. More people have access to alcohol and, unfortunately, many deaths occur as a result of drunk driving and other alcohol-related diseases.

It is fortunate that you can use marijuana responsibly; however, you are not setting a good example for your children. You don't get to choose which laws you will obey and which you will disregard because they simply cannot work within your personal philosophy. This guy disregarded the law, and it cost another man his life. Whether it was the intemperate use of alcohol or any other drug (yes, alcohol is a drug) that was the proximate cause of this man's death, it is unfortunate. This guy is getting off easy.

Brutus, I set a fine example for my kids. Both are very successful and college graduates. BOTH my kids new since about the time they could walk that me and their father smoke pot.Just because I smoke pot doesn't mean I'm a bad parent. Maybe I think ANYONE that drinks alcohol wether is every day or just on "special occassions" is setting a bad example for their children. My kids don't smoke pot so its not like I told them it was a great thing to do. I just made it aware to them at a young age if they wanted to "experiment" with drugs to ask me about it. I even told them if they wanted to do it bad enough that me or their father would get it for them so that we knew they wouldn't be getting a hold of a drug that someone tainted and could kill them. I would rather them tell me what they want to try and I would get it for them and let them try it in front of me so I could make sure they would be alright. Now, I can't wait to see the fools that reply to this one LMAO!!!!!!! Happy smoking people!!!!!!

Brutus, no one has ever died from smoking pot, other than being so impaired they do have an accident. Alchohol itself kills without the accident. The legality of marijuana should have changed long ago, treated like alchohol. Truth be told, there is a right place and a wrong place to imbibe in any mind altering substance. This dude picked the wrong place.

Can you please support your "facts"? No, you cannot because it is not true. Marijuana is a known teratogen that has detrimental effects. Your argument is not supported.

Well, here's your reply. Your posts are full of grammatical, spelling, and syntax errors. It's obvious that you are some type of deluded moron...possibly a result of all the marijuana you've been smoking. Enjoy your weed, pothead. Good luck in life.

Brutus here's a link for you.

I think thecynic's post says it all. This guys was an idiot for smoking pot on the job. True pot stays in your system for a long time. However, there are tests that can show how much pot was is in a person's system and then determine if those levels cause one to become impaired.

Dude:
Thank you for your post. I read the information from the link that you provided. What I have a problem with is the fact that most of the information was anecdotal in nature and unsupported by actual studies. The fact is that marijuana affects behavior, and it seems to have been a factor in this accident which caused another man's death. If you can provide more factual information, you may sway my opinion.
