You need a Tim Duncan and a Deron Williams - you at least need to start moving in that direction. Getting Hughes and Gooden just added to the skills already on the team.
3 excellent point guards in the draft: Derrick Rose, Ty Lawson, DJ Augustin. Get one of them and trade Gordon and Thomas for a low post scorer and they start looking like a real team.

Boo Ben Wallace fo what? They should Boo John Paxson for bringing him here. Then boo the management for not hiring the more qualified B.J. Amstrong who was already in a position to be hired and was working in a capacity to be hired but the Bulls Management needed a white face to hold the General Manager Position. I hope the Bulls never win because of how they screwed B.J. Amstrong. Hell, if he was white he never would have gotten screwed.

I'm definitely not one to place blame on the coaches, but to me this is a prime example where the coaches and/or management has no clue about the personnel that they have.

When Thomas is given the minutes, he puts up good numbers, consistently. We had the same situation with Tyson Chandler, and now he's on the cusp of being an All-star player and on the Olympic squad, all while playing in the Western Conference. Surely if he was handled or coached differently while he was here, he'd still be here as a great a player for Chicago. Picking the talent isnt the problem, knowing how and when to use it is.

Anyone rmember Roger Mason? probably not, well all of a sudden he's a pretty good role player coming off the bench for Washington. We drafted him and buried him on the bench for 2 years.

At some point management is going to have to start thinking outside of the box and stop trying to rebuild the old Bulls dynasty from the 90's. Use the talents of the players that you have and stop trying to make them fit into a mold that they are not made for..

It's a good thing we passed on Brandon Roy for drafting Aldridge and trading him for Thomas. What would we need with a big shooting guard who scores and plays D?

Tyrus Thomas is just another one of those "great character guys" that John Paxson has drafted to rebuild the franchise. Ben Gordon and Luol Deng have acted like two spoiled babies because they didn't get the contract they wanted. Joakim Noah is a grown man trapped inside a 12-year-old mind. Give it up, Pax. There are no great character guys playing basketball anymore. It's a myth. Jerry West and Jerry Sloan no longer exists.

Sorry I have to disagree with you. If he has a 12 yr old mind, how did he get into college?

The new JR Smith....... great move trading Lamarcus Aldridge for him Paxson (ALDRIDGE WOulDVE BEEN EXACLY WHaT WE NEEDED!)

If we kept Tyson Chandler and Lamarcus Aldridge instead of Ben Wallace and Tyrus Thomas then we wouldve been in route to a possible championship and definite contention as a perennial 50+ win team starting last season........

We need a star player. We stay in games til the end when the other teams guy takes over and beats us.

its the reason a team like boston is so damn good because they have 3 of them.

I say lets bring Dwyane Wade home next year when he's 100% healthy again and back to his pre-injury form that we saw from him last season, or the season before, or the season before, or the season before, or especially the 04 and 05 and 06 playofs, and most especially the 06 NBA Finals.

Lets bring him home. You saw how Lebron killed us in the last few minutes last sunday......

I would trade Deng+Gordon+Hinrich+Tyrus Thomas+Noah+Hughes and 2 first round picks for Dwyane Wade right now.

Same package minus Noah for McGrady right now.

I'd put a hell of a package for a TMac or Wade or Dirk or Arenas if any one of them come avaialable next offseason. Period.

Thats what we need, Gooden can score inside and be our 3rd or 4th option to keep the defense honest...... we have guys that can support in roles as a sidekick and roleplayers and we'd still have good depth, everything needed except a star to close out and lead us.

Go get em Pax.
